Maybe just do these competitions every 6 months. I'm only into this one because I just built a month ago but I don't expect to upgrade even in the next 6 months.

You need to OC your GPU/CPU/RAM.
That system has 600 more pts in it.
ETA: Try to hit 8500K.. that would be awesome for a budget rig.
Set the following as a template; do this just for the benchmark.
CPU: 4.5GHz @ Fixed 1.28V
GPU: +120 Core Offset (Leave memory alone)
RAM: 2133 @ 1.6V if you can hit that.. if not try for 1866 @ 1.55V

Truth.
It isn't just showing off but I find it fun to push performance out rigs. I feel like you don't understand why we epeen Stout.

You've changed your build pretty substantially since our last competition.
IIRC... Coyote, Buckeye, Gardoki, Blitzed, KK, you, and me have all updated our builds since the last one, and it looks life jeff and ilikelsu are also.
We've also had some other new builders like happy that just joined. We should have some different pretty different results than the last one

The one I didn't compete in?

But you still changed...
I want to see that 8350 and 570 combo up here
EDIT: Scores updated, check for any mistakes please!

First time was a novelty though as I imagine a lot of people had never read 3D11 before. Just based off of this thread doing so poorly that much is obvious.
That and I think others are intimidated by some of the recent monster builds others have since created.

The first one started off pretty crappy too, it just takes some time to get people going.

I can see this being a problem, but everyone has a chance at some free games (maybe some parts)!

when are we closing this? I might have a couple prizes to add in the near future.
Posted on 4/27/13 at 3:51 pm to bluebarracuda
I have prizes to give... just don't know what yet. I'm unloading my office/computer room stuff in the new house ATM. I have a ton of nice shite that I don't mind putting in (most unopened and new).

Was thinking of buying a Monaco 4 pack. I'll throw in couple copies
Posted on 4/28/13 at 6:21 pm to puffulufogous
I'll probably leave this up for the next month or so.
I'm not in any hurry to close it

I have prizes to donate. I'll participate but don't want to be eligible in the drawing.

Throw up your scores and what prizes!
You should make yourself eligible for some game prizes at least

And I agree leave it up for a while.

Update my scores.
i7 2600k @ 5.0 @ 1.5v
ASUS P8Z68-V Pro
GPU 1: MSI R7970-2PMD3GD5/OC 3gb @ 1280/1900
GPU 2: MSI R7970 Twin Frozr 3GD5/OC BE 3gb @ 1220/1700
3DMark 11: P16929
The twin frozr is new, so 3DMark isn't recognizing my graphics. They're supposed to fix it next week I think.

21500 with the 7970, nice!
How do you clock your 7970s? In afterburner? Doesn't the higher clocked card only run at the lowest cards OC?

Yeah, I'm using afterburner. I think the fact that I can't achieve higher clocks with the second card, and I'm having to reduce the OC on my original card, is probably my motherboard's fault.
I've read that GPUs will only run at the lower one's clock, and that is true ONLY when you are talking about different models (e.g., 7970 xfired with a 7950). I have found in the 20+ benchmarks that I've run in the last two days, that increasing the clock on the higher clocked card will improve score, and perhaps increasing the frequency of the lower clocked card would result in an overall higher percent gain in score.
But I believe I have it maxed out.
Oddly enough, both cards could mine all day at 1275.
