he owns 1/17 of a percent, but he and beyonce have access to a 500k a year suite plus he has a clothing store in the arena. i think jay z is a pretty good choice when it comes to making financial decision. check his track record.

Jay-Z doesn't strike me as someone as dumb as Master P who had a bunch of people who didn't know what they were doing. I imagine he is as successful as he is because of some natural talent and the self-awareness to seek advice from those with expertise.
If this was Lil' Wayne I'd laugh my arse off.

Just out of curiosity, did anyone besides Ricky Williams sign with the No Limit Agents when Master P was running that?

NBA GMs and Lawyers would take him to school during negotiations, unless NBA contracts are more set than i thought I still wouldnt want my financial future in the hands of a guy with that little experience

I would love to know what qualifies Jay-Z as an agent. Is an understanding of contract and sports law now not required? Unless he is actually partnering with an agency and just a figure head/attraction

Yeah, most had a law degree too.
He doesn't even have a high school diploma.

Why would Jay Z be an agent, its not like he knows anything about branding....oh wait. Some ignorant people in here. Business isn't rocket science.

Be good rappping. Get tons of money you can't blow it all. Create record label. Manage all your music and own rights. Manage other artist. Get half their earnings. Still get tons of money. Start clothing for other wanna be gangstas and classy urban youth. Get more money. Buy sports franchise.
How exactly do you screw that up if you're not hooked on tons of drugs?

He is the brand, his talent. He understands his market and he exploits it.
The guy is smart but lawyer he's not.

If only he could run a sports agency AND hire lawyers.

Well that doesn't make you an agent. Makes you owning a sports marketing business.

What is this garbage you are spewing? Jay-Z is worth like half a billion. He has made great decisions over the years. As he once said, "I am not a business man; I am a business, man."

looks like LeBron will have a new agent

Damn that's a lot for a high school drop out. I can remember him making the Forbes list.

Yeah, I think people are misunderstanding what's happening.
He's partnering with CAA. He's going to be the face/recruiter. The ones with the Ivy League degrees that work for him will handle the minutiae.
