Those people are stupid and just out for blood. The AD had already disciplined him before ESPN decided to run with a 2 month old college basketball story at a time when the most eyeballs would be on college basketball.

Sad that it took the video going public for them to fire this dickbag.

How can people blame ESPN for this?... had they received the video and sat on it, you people would be outraged... ... damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Slackhouse is right. NJ people saying he knew and condoned it or at least slapped Rice on the wrist. NJ com just reported firing.

This happened months ago. You don't think they sat on it until the tournament for max effect?

True, it's not just ESPN.

By suspending him for 3 games? That is pretty weak for behavior that could get Rutgers sued by a player. The AD should be gone too for what amounts to a cover up.

That sure didn't take long.

Some are even calling for the assistants to be disciplined.
Why stop there? Cut the players from their scholarships. They sat there silent while this abuse was taking place.
Come on people, it's not like he got in a fight a Super Bowl after party and people got stabbed and killed. We know that ESPN would never stand for that type of behavior.

that happens all the time by many different news organizations... the fake 'outrage' at ESPN is ridiculous. If you want to toss out blame, go after the AD for not doing the right thing when this whole episode first went down.

ESPN would never hire someone who threw chairs around the court, choked players, or bash one of their employees on their very own station.

Bingo. People don't understand, these are still STUDENTS. If a student assaulted a teacher or classmate they'd be arrested or gone.
Damn just seen a video of him trying to hit a player in the nuts with the basketball, wtf. Wow. He aimed at that part, crazy.

He didnt cover up anything. Rice was suspended and fined.
Oh by the way, the former employee that brought all this to espn tried blackmailing the university for a million dollars.

perhaps they'll hire Mike Rice in a few years. I don't see how exposing him for being an arse has excluded them from working with him in the future.

Well that certainly makes it ok then.
