What's y'all preference as far as benchmark software?
And what type of pc optimization can I look into?

This is what we benched with when we had our competitions.
Overclocking is how you boost performance, if you have an intel chip there are usually presets that you can used in the bios. It adds heat and fans noise the higher you get though. Video cards are a little harder as you have to manually play with the settings. Someone else will have better input on OCing I am a novice at it.

Do those lists still tell people to disable the pagefile? If so, don't listen to it.
