Per-core performance on the 8320 will be the same, and since LoL doesn't use more than 2 cores, it will do nothing for you in CPU performance.
An 8320 would be a good CPU for streaming though, which is something LoL players like to do for some reason.
Nearly all games are using 4 CPU cores or fewer, and many are using one or two. That's why intel chips always come out ahead in gaming tests, because even the i3's are going to beat out an 8-core AMD FX series if the game is only using a couple of cores.
Your GPU is the biggest blunder.

Yeah but that GPU is $99 on sale and runs LoL and D3 at 80+ FPS on ultra with ease, plenty good enough.
I'd buy the 270X you are selling but I don't really see the benefit/point even for just another $10, how used is it?

Unless you're streaming, buying the 8320 instead of a better GPU would be foolish.
I know the 260x will not be an issue for those two games, but are you really building a PC for just those two games? Maybe it's just my own habits making me question this, since I burn out on games arbitrarily.
In the world of used PC hardware, there are essentially two conditions: "working perfectly" and "unacceptable." For GPUs, there is no measurable lifespan when it's run well within average operating conditions. The card was used for mining cryptocurrency since it was purchased in January, and the temperature stayed under 70C and the fans at around 40%, in a closed case with filtered fans and no overclock or voltage modifications. It could run for years under those conditions and be obsolete before it started to show signs of degradation.

Yes, LoL and D3 will be pretty much it and mostly just LoL at that with some light D3 on the side.
But I mean for $10 more I'd take your 270x over the 260x.

PowerColor R9 270X 2GB
MSI A78M-E45 Micro ATX
Corsair CSM 450W 80+ Gold Certified
Raidmax ATX-809B (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
Final build, alright I'm happy with that.

So just using the PCI-E?
Should have just purchased an AM3+ board and 8300.
EDT: You would have done better with no iGPU if buying an APU, the iGPU will be auto disabled when using the PCI-E for graphics. You aren't going iTX but mATX, so i'm confused why an APU is even included in this form factor with a dedicated GPU.

Where are my crossfire experts?

I'm expecting this card from LSU any minute now. I'll be needing help I assume. Never crossfired before

He read a guide, probably written by LoL players, and as we know many of these hardcore I-only-play-one-game folks are not hardware savvy. The $70 Pentium G3258 would've given him better CPU performance because of its superior single core performance. LoL only uses 2 cores, so whether he chooses an FX or A8 or A10, the IPC will pretty much yeild the same performance in a game like LoL because of its limited CPU utilization, unless he decides to stream, in which case AM3+ and 8300 would've been the way to go.

There's a crossfire bridge in the box. I would install the 280x as the first card and move your 7970 to the x16 slot below it.
Connect the PCIe power and the crossfire bridge
Your PC might need to reboot once or twice trying to detect the new card and new placement.
If you haven't already, download and install MSI Afterburner.
Click settings, and tick the box to Disable ULPS. Click OK, and you'll have to reboot again.
Use MSI afterburner to bring your 7970's core clock to 1000 and memory clock to 1500 in order to match your new 280x. Move the power limit slider all the way to the right on both cards.
Note: Power Limit will be 20% on your cards rather than 50 (I'm using 290s).

Next thing to do is flash some custom vBIOS on those cards.

I cant find any for my 7950s :(
Posted on 9/2/14 at 4:39 pm to LSU Coyote
Not a whole lot to modify on them. Core and vram voltage is already unlocked to beyond what air cooling could handle, likewise for max clocks, and vram timing profiles are fine (Elpida cards can sometimes have poorly configured vram timings, which I learned while mining). Only thing you could really do is just undervolt or overvolt permanently, or raise power limits to 50%.
Lew why is your mail so slow? Mine is usually here before 11am.

Today was super slow for some reason. It's usually here by 12-1. Ridiculous. I'm at work right now, but I'm going to figure what damn cables I need and try to knock this out tonight or tomorrow. I don't have class or work tomorrow. I'm going to make you a plaque, brah!

Yeah, but even the IPC for FX chips is higher than the Richland A8 he picked out.
UltimateHog, if you aren't going iTX, no truely logical reason can be reached using an APU on a full board and dedicated GPU.

It's one of the dumber builds I have seen honestly
