Redoing my home server to record security camera video 24/7. It is only 1 camera to watch my UPS/FedEx drop offs when away.
Dude I was only kidding about coming to rob your house.

Power on the PC, mouse/keyboard light up but still not getting signal to monitor at times.

At random times? Have you ruled out loose connections, bad/incomplete seating of video card?
Posted on 7/30/13 at 6:06 pm to ILikeLSUToo
I reseated the card earlier. Is this an issue related to HDMI? I used DVI last build and VGA before that.

And by random times, I mean..... had to restart for an update and when it came back on, it did not get a signal from card.

Sounding more and more like a hardware issue. But for starters, use DVI and not HDMI for a while and see if the issues persist. After that, you'll need to start taking some high res pictures of the inside of your case so we can rule out any connection issues. The cam you were using for Skype was just too dark and low res to see anything up close.

I'm going to take a dump on your porch for you to see

It really isn't for sercurity of the property per se, just to watch over my packages during work hours. About 70% of our puchases are online. The only thing we do not buy online are cold cuts and fresh veggies.
So saying that, there is never anyone home to recieve the package. I have been sending most expensive items to my grandparents house because they are retired and always home, but this is getting old. I will install the camera to watch the front entrance where packages or left.. was even thinking about building a UPS/FedEx package drop box around the side of the house.

It's a pretty common issue now that I'm reading about this, not related to the cards it seems.

Does anyone have a SmartBoard at school or work?
We purchased this thing about 2months ago but are just starting to take full advantage of it. The thing is something to geek out over, posted it here because I believe you nerds would appreciate it.

My high school used those all the time.

So I have been busy working on other stuff but today I was digging in my shop and found a sheet of stainless and also a sheet of aluminum. Both thick gauge and both would be perfect for me to use as a base to start my Xbox laptop project back up.
I think I am going to do that tomorrow since I have everything I need except for an LCD controller board which I am about to order off of eBay.
But looking at those controller boards and other 12v and 24v power options, coupled with the link LSUToo posted about mounting a TFT display, got me to thinking about building a portal APU unit with a Mini-ITX mobo and a built in TFT screen.
I need to read up more but I think I could power it with this and an external laptop brick.
I was even thinking I could do it with a Pico-ITX board and dedicated GPU but all of the ones I have found have shitty built in CPUs.

It's not your card. I had a problem very similar and I reseated my video card and Ram and unplugged everything and it fixed it.
