Throw out some names of backup QB

I think it's a pretty safe bet to say the team will draft a QB somewhere in the draft. I wouldn't be surprise if they also bring in a vet QB to compete.
After looking at the ranked QBs in the draft, the guy that stuck out was Nathan Stanley out of Southeastern in Hammond:
"Nathan Stanley, QB, Southeastern Louisiana
Height: 6-5. Weight: 215.
Projected 40 Time: 4.95.
Projected Round (2013): 6-FA.
2/16/13: Stanley started out his career at Ole Miss before transferring to Southeastern Louisiana. The senior completed 53 percent of his passes for 1,705 yards with eight touchdowns and nine interceptions this year. He also performed well at the East-West Shrine.
Stanley displays all the physical tools NFL teams look for with a strong arm and good pocket presence. He will need some development, but could be a good sleeper for the third day of the 2013 NFL Draft."

Who better to learn from than Drew Brees? Also, there's a great chance he'll be in the extreme lower end of the draft or UDFA.
My gut tells me, if Bray or Wilson take a deep slide, they pull the trigger earlier than we might want.
As for a vet, there's very slim picking overall and it gets slimmer when you add in we can't pay a whole hell of a lot to him. Hoyer and Grossman are the only ones that might fit our cap space...not too appealing is it?
The real question is: Are we ready to groom a QB or opt for experience just a little longer?

There are ALOT of Qbs out there looking for a job. Somebody is going to have to sign for cheap if they don't want to end up broadcasting or being a HS coach.

Alex Moran
5' 10" 180 lbs
He was the first 10,000 yard passer in Wyoming High School history. His junior year he became starting quarterback at BMS. Alex holds the school passing touchdown record for a single game with 7 touchdowns, a record previously held by John Elway.

I'm curious to see where Ryan Fitzpatrick ends up.

CSP will call the top UDFA QB and say "the last scrub quarterback we brought in just signed a 10M contract last month"

Why do so many people assume that Brees will be a great developer and mentor to a young Qb? Read his book and then tell me how he feels about his backups.
Brees is still paranoid about losing his job to a backup after his experience in San Diego. He is not interested in grooming his replacement.

Nobody says this about Brees. Everybody knows Payton grooms the quarterback. Nobody comes here so that Brees can be his mentor.

Wouldn't be surprised if they gave Ryan Griffin from Tulane a look as a UDFA. Just spent a year with Curtis Johnson with a playbook similar to the saints.
