You're joking right. Why just black males?
Ok, the story is about young black males mouthing off and getting arrested!!!, but if you want me to be politically correct, "I should have said, it would be nice if all young people will show respect to authority and address them with a "Yes ma'am or yes sir" "
better for you?

Report on 247 suggesting the undercover policeman did not identify himself.
bottom line, why was one of Rickie's friends being followed?... RJ may be a good kid as Shea suggests, but that doesn't mean he isn't youthful and probably making back choices.
When trouble finds you, it almost always means you are responsible for some kind of wrong doing...sometimes that means having the wrong friends

Apex, you have NO idea how it feels being black!

It seems many Black kids today are raised to think Police are out to get them... how else can you explain the blatant disrespect and anger
You are completely generalizing. This is how I know you are nothing more then a troll, an idiot, or a racist.

It would be nice to hear a young white male address an officer with respect as well.

So would you like all black people to just treat all white people as if they are officers?

The friend is supposedly a very respected scholar athlete. Also, saying "Cops! Freeze!" does not identify you. I can yell that shite all day. These were "plain clothes" narcs. They don't typically dress in polos. The cops' story does not add up with the charges filed. Sketchy as hell.

This is 100% total bullshite. I was basically assaulted by an LSP narcotics officer when I stopped to get a hat that flew out of my window. Dude shoved the barrel of his gun into the back of my head. I was a 16 year old, average-looking white kid (now a professional engineer). God forbid I had any visible tattoos or a dark tan.

Never found a need to use these memes I made up during RJ's recruitment. Still don't know if I have a need but my want is strong enough to warrant posting them now.
Everyone feel free to use them to identify yourself.

This tells us nothing. A cop put a gun to your head because you stopped to pick up a hat?

Considering I do not trust most people, including the police, I will reserve judgment. Something does NOT add up in this story.

As a young black male, I was brought up to always respect my elders but I was also taught to not let people walk all over me. If the cop treats me with respect then I'll be respectful. If not then I don't owe him shite. Gotta give respect to get it.

No! No! NO!
You are doing it all wrong. As a black male you better learn your place when a cop is around, at least that is what ApexTiger tells us.

Same with me

I'm white and a white guy want win this argument, but I was raised to respect authority and that didn't mean getting respect from them. If a cop thinks you're doing something wrong you respect them and deal with the right or wrong later. Trying to be macho and proving your right at the scene is not the place, that how people end up dead, then it doesn't matter weather your right or wrong. I have no reason to believe Ricky isn't a great guy, but this was not a smart move.

But the whole story doesn't add up....this is from someone who is allegedly close to the situation.
quote:
-I heard this story right after it happened. Here is the story I heard.......The hot spot is the lakeside parking garage on Severn where students from destrehan always gather around to watch parades. Apparently this undercover detective approached the scene and was after the Sampson kid (supposedly a stud student...all honors or something...looking to get a full academic scholly) he did not identify himself and aggressively approached him. The kid took off in fear. Jefferson and sharp followed to protect their friend. As they followed two other unidentified undercover cops pursued the entire scene. Jefferson and sharp supposedly shook them off and absolutely manhandled the original detective that was pursuing Sampson. Sampson was cuffed for fleeing the scene...not sure this was handled the right way and I would expect the Sampson kid to sue.
-From what I heard the detectives didn't identify themselves until one of them got dropped by sharp and Jefferson.
-Never heard that the kids were cussing the cops, but did hear that the cops said, "f*ck your rights" to the Sampson kid
-The Sampson kid was thought to have possessed a gun and that is what started the whole thing. He did not have a gun on him, but I guess running away looks suspicious
-Sources from destrehan high who talked to sampson's mother after the incident. They thought the kid had a gun and never identified themselves and started chasing him. The article is a very conflicting side of the story. I really didn't believe the kid side of the story, but the report sounds a lot like a cover for cops who did not follow the correct procedure. Hard to know what to believe. I do know the Sampson kid is a stud student, which doesn't free him of wrong doing, but a kid so scared of the situation that he runs probably is not going to start cussing the guy once he finds out he's an undercover detective. And then people saw him get rid of a gun and they couldn't find it. I doubt that part of the story for sure. He was running along the parade route from what I heard. Somebody would have seen that and if someone saw a gun on the parade route, shite would have gotten way out of control... I don't know what to believe.
