I forget about that extra freezer...or what's in the back of it.

i forsee this problem in my future. just bought a full size frig for the garage, mostly for storing my beer. but i'm using the freezer on top for overflow, and i bet i'll consistently forget to check it...

Mine is just a freezer. Made sense when I fished a lot and had deer sausage. Now it is a vessel for stocks, gumbo and chili that will never see defrosted day until it hits the trash.

That and raw raw brisket.

I have a full size fridge and two upright freezers in the garage. I finally learned to freeze things in sections. Soups/stocks/gumbos together. Raw meats together. Seafoods together. Homemade "prepared" foods in a section, etc... I do better with that, but still throw things out, not because I can't find them, but because I just don't get to them in time. Now, that I vac seal most things, that problem is lessened also.
