I honestly have no idea why he would be on the list over other Duke players. He played one year and never did anything particularly offensive, other than having 'swag,' and even then, he paled in comparison to players like Devendorf and Marshall Henderson.

Patrick Ewing was an unbelievable beast in college and Georgetown was percieved as the biggest group of thugs in basketball.

Rivers was a mouthy cocky rich kid who was hateable enough by himself then he went Duke. Henderson hate is confined almost entirely to SEC fans.

The guys from Grantland have always thought he was trash on the court skill wise. Maybe they let that cloud their judgement. I agree, plenty of other Duke players I'd put in over Rivers.

Henderson would be much more hated had he played on a relevant team
