Texas is a major brand in college football. I'm a die had Tiger fan but realize that Texas has the clout to be a serious threat for any recruit they target in Louisiana. They have flipped Mike Davis and Toshiro Davis after both had been commited to LSU. They must still be relevant.

When Frank Herron visited Texas, there were a lot of you with tight asses then.I try to be a realistic Tiger fan,not like many of the band geeks that post.

What recruits have switched from Texas to LSU in the last ten years?

I suspect that Texas has Mack's successor lined up.
Brown was a good recruiter in New Orleana area at LSU and Tulane.
Please see success Brown had at North Carolina. He recruited New Orleans very well while at OU too.

Texas has locked up recruiting too early in my opinion, but they know more than me.Recruiting system enhanced white QBs from the schools with so much more talent than the teams they played that failed to test the kids' mental toughness has led to Horn's demise.I suspect they realize this now. When you have ten or more good Div One QB recruits each year, you are bound to miss on some.

Personally,I consider Texas a threat in Louisiana. If Texas offered Frank Wilson a job he would listen. They have the money.

Please give us some evidence that would support this, he was barely at each school.

Can you give us a list of kids from New Orleans that he signed at each school?

Look, I think we all realize you have Mack's cock firmly lodged in your throat right now, but you don't have to make things up about him.

No rational person would despute they have a brand name or that they could offer a lot. You however, are clearly living in the past because you don't realize LSU has become a brand name and offers a lot as well. That they flipped 2 guys from LSU, one of which was from Texas, is a meaningless anecdote. If they could just swoop in and take whoever they want, why haven't they tried before? It's not like Mack Brown just started there.

Doesn't sound like it, but how is that relevant?

All of that, except UNC was in the 1980's. 25-30 years ago And who did he get from NOLA at UNC? Did you realize that LSU is a much different program now than in the early 90's?

Then you are either trolling or you are just one of those paranoid LSU fans that can't accept LSU is now one of the big boys. The days when other programs could come from out of state and offer more than LSU are over.

link? How the frick do you know what Frank Wilson would do? Oh and LSU has money too. I think LSU is the only school with 2 coordinators slated to make over $1M. Texas may have more money, but they can not offer any more to coaches that LSU could not afford to match.

My god man, somehow in each successive post you manage to come off more and more like an idiot. Now UT can not only steal Louisiana recruits but can also poach members of our staff at will

And what does Frank Herron have to do with anything at all? Last I checked he was from Memphis, not Louisiana. I thought the subject of our discussion was UT setting up a pipeline in Louisiana, no?

UT flipped Mike Davis, LSU flipped Perriloux. Even. UT got 'Shiro Davis, LSU got Shep, Loston, David Jenkins, Terrance Toliver, and probably more I just can't think of off the top of my head. Advantage LSU.

Fact is LSU is a bigger threat to Texas recruiting at the moment and Texas is to LSU recruiting. Look no further than this year, we've already pulled Paris and we're in excellent shape for Brown, both of whom have UT offers, and it is still very early in the process. I feel pretty confident in saying UT's "pipeline" to Louisiana won't be superior to LSU's pipeline to Texas.
