With just three games, the SEC tournament and the NIT left(pending), how would you rate Johnny Jones first season at LSU?
Overall: 17 - 9
SEC: 8 - 7
Home: 14 - 2
Away: 3 - 7
The Good
- LSU may achieve its best SEC record since 2009 despite no true center, barring a collapse.
- Consensus Top 10 National Recruiting Class
- Knocked off then ranked #17 Missouri
- Moral victories over Kentucky and Marquette
- Revived Andre Stringer's career
- Transformed JOBIII into a dominating post man
- Developed Del Piero into a servicable D-1 player
- Has made coaching adjustments both in-game and over the course of the season.
- Has players playing inspired basketball
- Improvement in almost every offensive category over last year
- Has only two blowout losses (Florida and Boise State)
- No embarrassing losses to lower tier non-conference opponents
The Bad
- Has dropped a few winnable games in the SEC
- Timeouts and substitutions have been questionable at times
- Team has played inconsistent
- Fundamentals have been lacking
- Perimeter defense has taken a step back
Interestingly enough, UNT fans have been telling us all season that Johnny Jones team's may struggle early on, but they always gel and get hot down the stretch. It seems that they weren't joking.
Barring a major collapse: A-

anyone that grades him less than an A is an idiot

What letter grade do you give to the SEC coach of th year?

The games he dropped were early. Team has gotten better over the course of the year. He deserves much credit.

I agree completely. That said, just trying to be objective.

It's gonna be weird having expectations in basketball next year.

I give him an A for sure! He has done such a great job with this team and the future is extremely bright!

17-9 with this roster is impressive, we'd have been even better had Godfrey made the grades

How good would this team be with Justin Hamilton still here?

He's done well. I still worry about this team towards the end of tight ballgames.

What qualifies you to determine when our timeouts and substitutions should be made?

I've got no complaints about this team. It plays hard, doesn't quit, and has gotten better through the course the season. I wish there were more good players, but that will come.
Jones has done a great job. A solid A.

great and bodes well for the future
but man, change the losses to Auburn and South Carolina early to wins and LSU would be sitting at 10-5 in SEC play
