Can anyone estimate a guitar value? (now with 100% more pics)

I have a Fender Telecaster, American made - the serial number indicates that it was made in the mid 80's.
It has numerous small "dings" from being played extensively for 15+ years in a church choir and other venues.
I can post a picture later, when I get home, right now I'm just curious as to it's worth, in a general fashion.
Everything works, and it holds its tune incredibly well.

Realistically could get $800 for it most likely

What types of pickups? Hollow- or solid-body?
Also, which headstock is on it? Is it a tiny little tele headstock or more like the fat strat stock?

Actually, I looked, and they didn't produce the Deluxe in the mid-80s and the J5 is a recent design, so the headstock question is moot (or mute for some...).

That's on the high side I would think. I would expect more along the lines of 6-700. Not saying he couldn't get 8 for it but....

Just depends on the condition and if the parts are original
And the buyer
And the buyer

Condition doesn't sound great from the OP. $400-$600 depending on buyer.

I think it's in good condition, but then I think dings give a guitar character.
It hasn't been abused by any stretch - I played for years in a church choir and it got played at practice and Mass for 15 years.

$400 for an 80's American strat?
That's a damn good deal
80's American strat goes for around $800 FMV

Tele, and dings are only character to the original owner. To a buyer, they are damage.

For a 40 year old rosewood/maple neck, especially played in a non smoke environment for at least 15 years in a church, someone would pay $400.
$750 give or take

Double checked the serial number, and it looks like it was made in 89-90, not in the mid eighties like I thought. Sorry.

I would probably offer $350 tops for the guitar based on the pictures. It appears that it could use some repair and then TLC to prevent future degradation.
