I go to Bengies all the time in Baltimore. It can feel pretty cramped at times and there's all kinds of rules and regulations. There are also like 30 minute breaks between movies and the movie selections often suck but overall, it's pretty good bang for your buck to see three or more movies for $9 a ticket.

I keep telling people if I ever win the lottery. I am opening a Dollar show, a drive-in and a Putt-Putt golf course. Just to give kids and teens more options. The city really sucks for people who want to do something other than catch live music, or drink or do the museums.
I really miss having a putt-putt golf though.

That's actually the one I was taking about that was filled with a trashy crowd that ruined the experience.
It isn't ideal because they don't have defined spots so some cars end up parking too far apart while others try to squeeze in literally door to door.
There was almost a huge fight between a bunch of rednecks cause some guy tried to pull in between two cars. Just a mess.
The other one I went to had nice sized spots so that wasn't an issue.

There's still a few up here and used to be multiple in the city of Louisville up until about 3-4 years ago. I absolutely love 'em.

They have one within about a half hour of where I live. Wife and I went a couple times when we were dating. Last time I think we saw Halloween and Saw 4 or 5 maybe? I don't remember. It was one of the sequels.

Old Yeller, Planet of the Apes, and a Vincent Price movie marathon are 3 I remember.
And sneaking into The Story of O with my JR. HS buddies. There was a drive in theater south of Pittsburgh that showed X-rated movies. We tried to climb the wooded hill that looked down into the theater but just ended up slipping under the fence. It turned out that half our HS football team was there.

Because this board is making me feel really old.
Used to go to one a lot when I was a kid. In fact, it was still around in high school. Had "buck nite" on Wednesdays during the summer. Only cost a dollar for an entire car to get in. We thought we were cool by loading up the car and even having people in the trunk.

One of the ones near me usually does a full on classic horror slate right during the month of October. It's great.

There's one in Memphis. Went there a couple years ago to watch Public Enemies. Brought lawn chairs, a grill, and an ice chest full of food and beer. Nobody ever said a word to us. We were there for hours. Neat experience.
Biggest complaint was, you couldn't hear the movie on their little speakers, so you had to tune your car radio to the station with the movie audio.

as a kid a trip to the Showtown (or Showtime) on Airline off Sherwood Forest was a major deal. It was like a trip to some exotic world. Was behind the State tropper building
there was also one on Airline out near Earl K Long that we would attend
and the one off Government where I think a Winn Dixie, that mexican place with the crappy food (superior)
my first flick was Billy Jack- a biker movie, big during that time
as a adult I lived in Memphis for awhile, they had two or three there, did a couple dates and had a real good time

I was lucky enough to grow up near one still operating. Went there countless times growing up. It's still there today.

It'd be awesome if the sound were Bluetooth compatible and you had a bluetooth receiver in the car to play the movie soundtrack through the car stereo...in stereo-surround while watching a drive in...Could leave the windows up, keep the skeeters out. I could dig it!

Use to drink a lot of beer @ Algiers Drive In on Gen Meyers.

Not sure if it's the same, but like I said, the audio for the drive-in theater in Memphis is broadcasted through a radio station.

In high school we would drive outside of Nashville to Dickson, TN where they have (had?) a drive-in. That was around 2000-2003. I remember one time we saw Triple X. The film burned up halfway through and everyone cheered.
The new one at City Park should be completed pretty soon.

There's one in Athens Alabama. Not sure how that helps anyone on here.

Got my first blowie at the Drive-In while watching Crimson Tide.
Ironically, my date was on the rag so it didn't go any farther.
