Yes, a GREAT win and kudos to the whole team and coaches etc. I do think (as I have said all year) this team plays with a ton of heart and JK always has-love her effort and her game, TP has come standard deviations from where she was and we are playing our best ball at right time. Now, I would also point out we have made 13 of last 14 NCAA's trnys, never lost in round one and so I will still consdier this season average if we do not make NCAA round two (I said this all year) and while I do feel better about NC, I would be careful about doing td dances alum96...we are a 5-6 seed in SEC and this is not acceptable over the long term, rebuilding year or not, let's see how we finish and, yes next year should be MUCH better, but IF (and only if) we flop in round one of ncaa/sec and/or do not finish in top 3 SEC next year etc. or NC leaves etc, I will be proven correct...hope I am wrong and I am a big enough person to admit things are much better in last 4 game, but NC is not a success yet, but again if she does become one and take us where many of you think, we will all be happy..

and BTW, the refs were terrible, both ways. SEC office needs to look at this crew, did not have control of game...

Any word on the McKinney injury? I saw they had her riding the bike after the injury, so hopefully that was a good sign.

wrong? we are in 6th place in the SEC and should make our 13th NCAA trny in 14 years, this coach is NOT a proven sucees yet (you disagree, you think after under 2 years it is NOW ok to declare that)....wow, I still think (but hope I am wrong) she will leave us within 2 years for another job and/or not finish in top 3 in SEC or make it past round two of NCAA trny ever while here, I think she is using us as a stepping stone and that her male assitant is an embrrasment to us, I think she worked WAY too much trying to erase the past...I hope I am wrong, but none of these issues are settled, I hope you are as fair about when you are wrong as I am being about when I am...And reat sssured if any thing I think (again it's just IMO) that is wrong, I will gladly say so. Just like I said I was wrong about last four games- did no think we would win them all, GREAT JOB by NC,team etc!also did not think we would lose to hampton and Tulane..did you?

Just curious...where do you think she is going? She left a very secure position at UCLA to get back to the SEC. What job is going to be open that she would take over this position in the next 2 years?

I enjoy watching those with the radio broadcast over the video.

Here is how I know Patrick Wright is good at what he does...and I have enjoyed listening to him anyway...but he must be good because NOBODY on this negative cesspool of a board ever bitches about him! The nature of this board is to complain when possible, but for the most part, not compliment when it is warranted. Or maybe its just that the women's sports diehards that post in these threads are more level-headed than the Rantards...

That was a tremendous, hard fought gut it out win. Considering all the distractions these ladies have endured over the last week they maintained their focus and played with the resolve to win.

I was impressed with and enjoyed watching them play with intensity for the full 40. It could have been very easy for them to fold under the heavyweight blows delivered by UK, they stood tall and fought back with their best effort start to finish on a short bench.

I totally, emphatically agree with the comment regarding the SEC Office reviewing the crews call. This was the absolute worst officiating I have witnessed this season. I am not one of those fans yelling about every no call, or ticky tacky play, because I like to let them play, as long as it isn't a hinderance on the game. I will say the crew did their best to clean it up in the second half but honestly didn't show up until there was 10 minutes to play.

This team is playing their best ball at the right time and the future looks promising.

Just as others have said, what "job" is she going to leave LSU for? Better yet, what job is going to be available that's BETTER than LSU? You do realize it's considered one of the top ten jobs out there, right?

She'll NEVER make it into the top three of the SEC or advance past the second round of the NCAA? Based upon what? Your "feelings"?

Again..................sour grapes.

Just off the top of my head I'd say the only programs comparable are:
-Tenn
-Duke
-UNC
-Notre Dame
-UCONN
-Stanford
-Texas
-Oklahoma
-Baylor
Outside of some bizarre happening the bolded ones aren't coming open in the foreseeable future. Texas could be open in a couple year but considering how their last big money women's basketball hire(Goestenkors) turned out I don't see them making another big money hire again.

If you want to reach I guess you could say Rutgers and UGA. But I don't see her leaving for UGA because what's the upside. Rutgers has fallen way off plus they have a uncertain future moving to the Big Ten.

saintsfan22, that's actually a pretty good list. You MIGHT even throw in Ohio State for good measure. But, what someone like secman needs to realize is how much are those programs paying for their coach. Tenn, UConn, Baylor, Notre Dame and Stanford really can't be included because they are currently being coached by hall of famers, who are all making over $1 million/year. After that, what other programs are going to outspend LSU, who is currently paying Nikki $ 700K/year? And, if she continues her winning ways, when her contract comes up for renewal (after next season), she'll probably be making close to $ 1 million/year. Again I ask, who on that list is going to outspend LSU for her services? No one I can imagine. LSU is one of the "big boys" in women's college basketball. We're probably not going to be outbid by more than maybe 5 schools at best.

Nikki is here for the long haul.

I think C. Vivian Stringer will retire in the next few years at Rutgers. Andy Landers is probably at UGA for another 5-10 years. Sylvia Hatchell may retire at UNC in the next 5-10 years. However, these are top programs and if your assessment that CNC is not doing a good job is correct, why would these schools want to hire her? I have been very impressed with the development of Plaisance and McKinney this year. She or her staff has greatly improved both of these players and the team has shown steady improvement. The losses early in the year and the TN collapse were frustrating, but they have learned from the experience and they are much better than I ever dreamed. Seeing the roster at the beginning of the year, I thought we would be hard pressed to have a winning season in the conference...we're going to finish in the top half of the conference and probably are in the tournament at this point. Also, the UCLA team that she built is in the top 20, with her recruits. I think she is on the right track and I think she is here for awhile.

alum96, you of all people, who read all this type of threads are questioning my knowledge? You may disagree with me, but you know I follow the sport and know my stuff, yes it is IMO, just as yours is. Fact- NC has never made it past the 2nd round in an NCAA trny, fact she could leave LSU and go to any of 10 or so (saintsfan as always had a very good post, agree with his info) programs or never make top 3 in SEC, I may be wrong and I may be right..time will tell. But make no mistake, getting outsted in round two at home last year and finishing 6-7 in SEC this year does NOT make me any more wrong than you are right. By the way, if we lose in round one-two of sec and round 1-2 of ncaa's at home this year, will you at all be disapointed? I will....because we are used to doing much better over the past 14 years, arent we?

one more thing LSUalum96, and of course you do not have to answer and/or tell the truth, are you employed by LSU AD in any fashion and or married to or related to any coach, sid etc? If you are you could be a bit biased here...I am a fan, no relations at all at LSU family etc. I know none of the WB coaches on a personal basis, just think it may be interesting for you to reveal your perpsetcvie, mine is as a fan, pure and simple, I only post what I see and realize it is limited...but does not mean it is wrong

How? Is she going to force the coaches there out?
