Can I Get a March Madness Primer?

Basketball has felt kinda blah this year and being a fan of an SEC team that means double the suckage. As a result, I've not followed as basketball very closely this year
Therefore, I'm coming to the MSB in preparation for March Madness. Who are the bracket busters, the sleepers, the Cinderella teams? I know no one team is dominating. Kentucky is down. Miami is good? Florida may win it all? What do I need to know as March descends upon us?

According to ESPN, the only good teams in the country play in the Big 10.

They aren't wrong, if you add in Gonzaga and a few teams from the Big 12. The Big Ten is far and away this best league this year.
I know. It shocks me, too.

Big ten is really good.
Kansas could go final 4 or get bounced 1st round. They are so bi polar.

I saw a couple of weeks ago where Wisconsin was in the Top 25 but thought I misunderstood? Apparently, I did not
What's going on with Duke, UNC, and the rest of the ACC? Is it really a down year for them also?

That's my attitude as well. The Big Ten finds ways to choke.
Well, crap. Now I've talked myself into Duke winning the title again.

it's still kinda early cause no brackets/seeds etc but here goes:
I think Indiana is legit. Can def win it all, Crean has been to Final Four before
Miami is legit as well
UF yes
Gonzaga yes
everyone else is a toss up, including Mich St, Mich, Duke, Kansas
I think Missouri is as talented as any team in the nation when they play together. I'd watch them closely and see what their bracket side looks like
Butler will probably be undervalued as well
best I could come up with right now

UF won't win anything unless Yeguete comes back. Otherwise teams can just get Young in foul trouble early, and that screws up UF's offense.

Ohio State is like this as well, although their ceiling is probably the Elite 8.
This March madness is going to be awesome.

there are a bunch of teams like that, although most (like kansas) aren't really in danger of losing first round. 2nd round and on though, for sure.
the reason ohio state has a decent chance at losing first round is because they might slide down to like a 7 seed if worst comes to worst giving them a tough first rounder. they should be able to play themselves to a top 4 seed though.

I think this year will be a pretty wide open field doesnt seem like there's a consensus #1 team

I've been thinking for the past month or so that we would finally have a year where there would not be a consensus team that the majority pick to win their brackets, but if things hold up down the stretch Indiana has separated themselves from the rest as far as the public favorite. Thing is they are very beatable, they are a great shooting team, and real solid defensively, but one off shooting night against the wrong team and they could get bounced.
If they win the SEC Tournament, Florida will likely be the next in line as far as public favorite's go, and a lot like Indiana, rely heavily on their shooting to win games. They are even more of a risk since they rely so heavily on three pointers, 13th most in the country. Also haven't beat a top 100 team away from home this season.

I think the SEC as a whole was very underrated last year which made them more competetive in the Tourney. However, that's not the case this year and I'm not willing to go out on a limb for any SEC team right now. It's pretty much Florida playing the role of Kentucky and then everybody else.

I bet it would put a smile on Mark Emmert's face to crown Miami in the midst of his epic fail of an investigation . . .
And I may have just identified my Cinderalla team

The U just screams "Team Most Likely to Flame Out in the First Weekend". They scare the crap out of me.

they are really good though, really good
and Larignitia (spelling whatever) is a very good coach. I don't think they flame out
but that is a 50/50 this year with almost everyone

Gonzaga..NO. They have a lot of attributes of a pretender..
New Mexico is very good team that is not talked about (RPI #3!)
I think a couple teams from the Big 12 will make a nice run.. Oklahoma..Kansas St..
Arizona is very undervalued as well.
Cinderella's- Belmont, La Salle and the MAC champion (Ohio or Kent St.)

I love my Gators, but even they do have flaws, so it's hard to really believe that they are going to win it all). It's all dependent on matchups, same goes for Michigan State (I love Izzo, so that's a big help too )
