But "happily ever after" is basically what they had
whereas many love stories end with a "..." where we aren't shown "the end"
and yea the whole not having kids thing was sad, but it's also what springboarded their desire to fulfill their childhood dream, that is until life got in the way

I do think the montage in Toy Story 2 is even better. Thanks, coco. Now, it's all dusty in here.
But to the people who said the back half of the film isn't any good, if you don't tear up when he looks at the photo album... you are an inhuman monster worse than Hitler. Beautiful scene.

The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits.

Up is Pixar's best film and one of the better modern films.
How could it be when what follows is all about the first 20 minutes??
If you aren't making that connection, then you're missing the point.

This after the first 20 min it was boring and lame IMHO

As human beings tend to do.
I get what you're saying, but I've always looked at that montage in Up as more sweet than sad.

When She Loved Me.
Such a great scene/montage. Fit the movie perfectly.

So I just watched the 9 minute montage of UP posted earlier, and there are definitely sad parts. But overall, it's overly sweet...when he flips through the book and realizes that she had been filling it with pics of them, and she leaves him the note "Thanks for the adventure - now go have a new one," that's just awesomeness.
And now I'm all teary-eyed at work. frick.
