I am from Winnfield. It was hard to see one of the best teams in Winnfield's football history get beat by one of the best teams that money could
buy - yes, John Curtis - in 2011. And for those that count heads Winnfield had about 4 times as many fans there as John Curtis. YEAH, SOUR GRAPES.
Have fun in a few years getting beaten by a public such as Haynesville and then finding an excuse for why you didn't win.

in New orleans?
Offhand... Holy Cross, Brother Martin, Archbishop Shaw, Archbishop Rummel, and Dominican (girls only), though there are more than that which I can't remember at the moment.
LOTS of Catholic schools because the public school system in and around NOLA has been fricked for years.

St. Paul's, Rummel, Jesuit, St. Augustine, Brother Martin, Shaw, Holy Cross, De La Salle, Mount Carmel, Dominican, Chapelle, Academy of Our Lady, St. Mary's Academy, Xavier Prep (closing), St. Charles Catholic, Pope John Paul, Hannan

Didn't winnfield have a player that actually lived in another parish.. but was staying with relatives who lived in Winnfield's attendance zone...
which BTW is a non bonafide move......
and the best team in winnfield's history had jeffery dale and ricky chatman...among others... and no it wasn't curtis that beat them...
and scholership is exactly what is wrong with most public schools...

no.. because the curtis kids submitted the actual addresses where they live and those that lived outside the attendance zone... sat out the 1 year required.. making the tiger player illegal.. it is very relevant.
talking w a principal that was there.... select non select thing is about to get gonged..
and isn't it ironic winnfield's lone state title came against curtis...

Sounds like the work of a parent who neglects his kid's educational development at home, blames the teacher for all the problems, and sends him to a Catholic School after he gets expelled for being an ignorant jackass.

Don't you realize in todays society everyone deserves a trophy and there are no failures in the real world.

But... but... it's WRONG that Haynesville gets good football players because there are lucrative petro-jobs there! It's not fair that Winnfield doesn't have a shale formation named after it!

Doesn't mean I won't still bust the balls of the Winnfield people over pushing for a split because they can't win on the field.

they weren't alone.....
at the next LHSAA annual convention they may look into changing the way they count enrollment at select schools.. a proposal by a principal with a lot of airtime over this....

This post is full of idiocy and I don't even know where to start.

Which is a somewhat more reasonable proposal depending upon the multiplier, but you're more likely to see class B and C side with the privates on this one since it likely bumps some Cs into B and some Bs into 2A.
They still need to figure out what the frick a "select" school consists of, though.
Private and parochial go without saying, but having to do massive audits of the enrollment to figure out which category a school falls into is a sign of a horribly-written rule.

And if Curtis did not have all those
"scholarship" players TWO of our state titles
would have been against John Curtis Christian
School.
Nobody has, and will not, say how many
football players Curtis had on scholarship in
2011 or 2012 or any other year.
What does it matter if a transfer sits out one
year and is on scholarship the other three years?
Bought players, pure and simple.

correct... and..
this is really about two schools and rather than attack them, they attacked them all, some very undeservingly so.
one thing is that Curtis and ECA need to be allowed/move up even if it is just for football.

the existing rules... if that kid played.... it's a forfeit.....the rules matter....
big problem for the LHSAA is inability to enforce rules...
