My friend who lives in Texas has had an incident in Baton Rouge and was cited for damage to public property. Being from Texas he decided to ignore the court date so now he has a bench warrant here in LA.

He wants to get a concealed carry permit in Texas but am I right thinking the bench warrant would show up in the background check?

People who show such lack of respect for the law shouldn't pack heat.

You better get that warrant business cleared up regardless of the CCP.

Am I the only one that thinks this might be one of those guys that continues to make poor decisions?

Sounds like "your friend" has no business getting a CCP in Texas. Depending on where and who does the the CCP class he could be screwed.

What if you've been charged with a felony but not convicted, and have disposition papers to say as such?

lol, I had a bench warrant in Baton Rouge when I got mine in Louisiana. I didn't know about the Bench warrant until 2010, it was from 2002.
