Ok, I can look the other way when no other assistant coaches are anywhere to be found when Kilmer walks out, makes for a good ending with Lance coaching. However, I can't get over the way they make it seem that this is the last game of the season, they just won the district what about the playoffs?
Also how the hell did Tweeter get those beers so fast?

If they did a sequel what would be the story line and where would the characters lives be?
I say Moxon becomes a liberal douche living in the northeast and comes back to Texas as a lawyer representing some public interest group that wants football stopped because of how dangerous the sport is. They target Texas high schools.
Lance is the football coach. Just won the Texas state title but their star player was horribly injured during the year.
Tweeter ends up owning the local strip club and is the head of the h.s. booster club. But middle of the movie he Gets caught catering to h.s. players at his club. Black eye on the program/football.
Billy Bob is a local farmer with a bad drinking problem and has alienated everyone of his old h.s. friends. But is excited that moxon is back in town and backs moxon and his group. Says that football contributed his life being shitty...
Not sure what Kilmer does. Maybe comes back to beat the crap out of Moxon. .???
Finish this shitty movie....

Yea that always bugged me too. It ends with Mox saying he never played again. So does that mean he punked out and left them to roll with the 3rd string QB in the playoffs? If so that makes him a pretty big a-hole to screw over his teammates like that.

how many state titles had kilmer won in 30 years? 2? something like that? 20 district titles? ok so he plays in a crappy district and usually gets owned in the playoffs
dude acting like he's a God when there are prob tons of coaches in texas with more than 2 titles

This has always bothered me too..I always thought that maybe they had done something to be barred from the competing in the postseason hence why Kilmer was so damn obsessed with winning a district title that year, it was the most he could accomplish. Or that when word got when Kilmer left that he was injecting cortisone into injured players instead of giving them proper medical attention that the school board had to take immediate action to save face so they fired the rest of the staff and the Coyotes had to sit the playoffs out because of not having a coach.
Maybe Stubby "Stud Daddy" Tanner brought them down from the pressbox

It's Texas HS football. They treat them like gods there even if he did only win 2 state titles. It prob wouldn't bother them to lose to a team across the state because they don't know those people but as long as they beat their neighbor they are good.
