LINK Town Mayor akes a shot at states reaching out to Remington. Thoughts?

I thought Remington already said they were staying, no?

They should all relocate to Texas and be done with it.
As for taking shots at states, nothing personal, just business. Mayor should know that. It's very similar to CFB recruiting and the mess at Penn State last year when coaches were trying to lure players away almost immediately. I don't blame them one bit. That's life. If you don't get the jump, someone else will.

The mayor agrees this will hurt jobs and the town. He has the foresight to understand this is not good for his community. He then goes on to say that states offering a new place of business are wrong for doing so because it was unsolicited?
He sounds as if he is only interested in his particular special interest and not in the actual politics of the situation. If you believe in states rights and free enterprise capitalism then by all means you should be encouraged by the open offers of states that are protecting their constituents’ rights.

Describes 95% of politicians.

The mayor is being pretty dang naive about the whole situation. Remington would probably be much more profitable in a southern state that has right to work laws, beneficial tax structure, etc.

I would imagine those places like Remington, Kimber, and Smith are all union shops and would have a very difficult time breaking the existing contracts and moving down. Didn't the unions stop Boeing from building a factory in S. Carolina?

They're still trying to get the Labor Board to stop it, but the plant in SC is operational

It was the Feds who tried to kill this deal. Killed about the time when they killed the ATT - T mobile merger.
I knew I wasnt crazy when I posted about this in the Magpul thread.
