Define what you mean by heated? Nothing compared to those series and teams of the 1980's and early 1990's like the Pistons. Those guys were brutal. They would brawl on the floor.

there would be more fights today if the rules against them weren't so draconian

I agree the KG mello scuffle wasn't much. But they were exactly "bro'd out" either

Bring back the Motor City Bad Boys with Laimbeer, Mahorn, Rodman,, Sally and Isiah. Jordan knew they were going to clean his clock.

Exactly, the rules prevent the NBA from being what it used to be. You hardly get physical with a guy and you get t'd up or ejected. If they would let them play like it was back in the day, the playoffs would look like a hockey game.

If the alternative were the case, there'd be a lot of people bitching and moaning about how the NBA has just devolved into a bunch of Thug POS players

It's rather foul to me as a fan and could be one of the reason's I haven't watched a full game all season
it's a rather boring product

Its entertainment business. After a performance the entertainers go about their business.

Seems like these days all the NBA players are buddy-buddy with each other regardless of what team they are on. The violent competition of the 80s and 90s has been replaced
As opposed to Magic and Isaiah making out on court before a tip off?

I think the players respect one another. So off the court it shows, but when they get on the court they are in it to win it.
I don't need players hating each other 24/7 to enjoy it
