Students got shown up by the general public.

You say this like it doesn't happen at every basketball game in the last 10 years. Students suck at BB loyalty embarrassing for a group who touts their drunk asses as a great fan base .

Why is it so hard for people to understand that until the bball team shows a pattern of winning (2-3 seasons of going to ncaa tournament) the crowds will not be that big or exciting? Once the team starts winning consistently, more and more people will show up.

If every school had this stupid fuking mentality athletics wouldn't exist. Support your fuking team dickheads.

I never said it wasn't a stupid mentality, and it didn't stop me from going to basketball games while I was in Baton Rouge. It's just the truth. If you want to grow and excite your fanbase, win games. I can't think of many losing teams/programs that are known for their crazy and widespread fanbase.

I only went to one basketball game during my 4 years at LSU, even during the Final Four season. I am just not a fan of college basketball even though I caught some games on tv. Should I go to swimming and diving events just to support my school?

13 years ago it didn't matter how many tests I had. I was still showing up early to get a good seat for LSU basketball. School came second to sports and I had fun

Went to baseball game. Not going to another game in the same day. Deal with it.

Blame Brady & Johnson!

Brady was too big of a jackass to be involved with any promotion of the team -either with student, alumni, former players, or the general public; and

Trent teams were boring and for the most part didn't put anything on the court to get excited about.

And before you ask, I've had season tickets since the PMAC opened & I used the damn things myself all through the Brady-Trent years......

The students will be back soon enough with the job Coach Jones is doing and the talent that's headed this way!

Give it a bit more time. Have you noticed how the overall crowds had to slowly but steadily grow over this season? That' older fans that remember the days of Macklin, Carter, Mitchell in'80 or at least Blanton, Jackson, O'Neil, Roberts, etc.

Current students have little or no frame of reference re: Tiger Roundball as a consistent winner, and regular tournament team.

It will happen!

Da Fuq? Baseball/Basketball double headers are some of the best days to be an LSU athletics fan. I love being able to do both in the same day.

Very good point, we can give them somewhat of a pass I guess.

Actually yes I have. Yesterday it was exciting to see that crowd. Hopefully we pack it out our last 3 home games.

I know. Nothing is better than a basketball and baseball Saturday. We have two more of those.

And I was disappointed in the students. It was a terrible showing.

Thank god, because we had zero last year and it sucked... We have Washington (baseball) and Ole Miss (basketball) in the same day in a few weeks, that's going to be awesome

So Brady drove away the students even though 90% of the student body was in high school when he was coach?

Oh he'll no! Brady drove away the students, the alumni and season ticket holders with his arrogance, repeatedly running off players with his brow-beating, antagonizing the refs to the point we couldn't get a call, the shitty way he treated Dale and former players, and generally being a jerk.

If you spent ten minutes with him, you hated the guy & it caught up with him when he started losing.......

Just say'n..............

I was a freshman at LSU in 1992. We went 2-9 that year. Worst season in LSU football history. I went to every game no matter what. I love my school first and foremost. In every sport. I'm a season ticket holder in football and basketball. I will attend games no matter how great or shitty we are simply because I LOVE LSU!!!!!! A true fan sticks with their team through thick and thin.
