are you talking about the episode that Pike was the captain and Shatner was nowhere to be found?
IMO it mos def gets stronger after that one. Some are actually really damn good while others are cheese ball fluff. Overall I think its worth a watch.

I would tell anyone to watch "Babel" and the Khan episode. Though the Gary Mitchel episode it solid as well.
