I am hesitant to move out of state with no support system consisting of friends and family and lock into a long-term lease with a shaky economy. First hired are first fired. I do not want to be stuck with a lease when I have no job to pay for it.

You need a boost in confidence. You are not going to find a job anywhere if you believe you will be fired before you even accept an offer. Sometimes it is best to make a life changing decision and go on your own for a year or so. You really need to do some activity to relax a little bit and keep your mind focused. There is opportunities available for you, it will be a matter of time.

You will never be successful with that mindset. You are holding yourself back.

False. Recent hires (which I'm assuming you're talking about here) are usually cheaper and doing more work.
