And why. I'm interested to hear the other alternatives that you are upset that we're missing out on. Naturally, I suspect I'll receive no real answers in this thread but figured this question warranted its own thread.

This is an amazing hire. Not sure what anyone could get mad about here. QB development has been a problem so Les gets a guy that is a master at bringing QBs along. I mean Drew freaking Brees endorses Cam. What more can you demand? I to Les on this hire.

I'll make a guess for a large number of them:

1) Sean Payton
2) video game spread offense guy
3) doesn't matter who; he sucks because Miles hired him

Solid hire. I have been sitting here thinking about the different dynamics between the nfl and college. On one hand a coach in the nfl has guys that know there fundamentals before they get there. I don't know how much actual teaching goes on there.

On the other hand, I don't know if pros in the nfl want to be taught. All the talent is basically even in the nfl. We have a SLIGHT advantage in the sec, so that's a plus.

Some coaches seem to do better in one environment then the other. Some are great in both. He was not good as an Indiana head coach. He coached some good qbs and set school records though.

I love the hire. But taking everything into account. I just don't know.

This is such an easy answer.

Sean Payton
Chip Kelly
Chris Peterson

Anything less than that is unacceptable, damnit.

I think some of the numbnuts are upset, because that dastardly Les Miles foiled them once again, from having their tar & chicken feather and run out on a rail party.

Posters upset with this hire are absolute morons. Cams offenses as OC always prolific and he had a major role in development of 5 pro bowl QBs. He will use the backs and TEs, something missing the past 5 years and his relationship with les will help les let go. He trusts cam. Also, can you see cam on the trail, "you heard of drew brees? How bout Antonio gates? Ray rice?"

I think they're mostly just pissed that Les pulled off what may be another Chavis level BOOM WIN hire.

Some people just live to whine and be miserable. Reality will never penetrate that need to cry.
