How did Ole Miss pull off 2013 recruits?

From reading about the success of this year's recruiting class for Ole Miss there is an underlying , unspoken wink , wink that all may not have been above board and within the rules. Not that there is any evidence of that, just sayin.
So lets just come out and say it, what did Ole Miss do to suddenly and out of nowhere land one of the best recruiting class in the country?

Nope.
As far as your question, you aren't the only one curious about this. It does seem strange to me that OM would play dirty, and draw so much attention to themselves all at once. I don't know wth to think.

They got RN because of his brother and he recruited the rest.

they got Robert Nkemdiche's brother two years ago. That was the lynch pin in everything. Without his brother there, Nkemdiche comes to LSU.

Freeze himself says he can't take all the credit.
According to him, 3 of the 5 stars already had personal ties to the team. One had a brother there, one had a best friend, one was a JUCO placement that blossomed.
One other can be credited to his staff, but the other 5 stars presence influenced that.
I don't see this as a pattern that will continue to repeat itself. There was a lot of luck involved.

I get it about Robert Nkemdiche's brother. But its not like RN went out and recruited other 4-5 star players to jump aboard. Up until the last day he seemed to seriously consider LSU.
So does anyone have any real ( or second hand) insight into Ole Miss and how they pulled it off?
I've been to Oxford, seen the town and campus and don't understand it.

Nkemdiche - had his brother
Treadwell - had teammate and close friend on team + Nkemdiche
Tunsil - Ole Miss offered his younger brother who is currently or will be a junior next year. His brother isn't even a top 200 player in the state of Florida.
quote:
Tunsil, who had never visited the Ole Miss campus until an official visit two weeks ago, also considered defending BCS national champion Alabama and Florida. Freeze said Ole Miss defensive line coach Chris Kiffin -- USC coach Lane Kiffin's younger brother -- did an outstanding job recruiting Tunsil and won over the player's mother.
But the Twitter world went abuzz after Tunsil's sudden about-face last week, with some accusing the Rebels of offering his girlfriend an academic scholarship and paying off his family. "It's not true whatsoever," Freeze said. "It comes from the same place where most of the other stuff comes from -- garbage bins."
But sources familiar with Tunsil's recruitment did confirm to ESPN.com that the Rebels have offered a scholarship to his younger brother, Alex Weber, a lightly regarded junior receiver at Columbia High in Lake City, Fla. The Rebels offering Weber a scholarship isn't a violation of NCAA rules. He wasn't included among a list of 232 wide receiver prospects in Florida for the 2014 recruiting cycle.
ESPN shits on Ole Miss

Ole Miss' class is top heavy. That means that everyone is making a big deal about a handful of players (4-5).

According to RN's mother:
Beverly realized pretty quickly that Ole Miss wouldn't be the most popular choice for her son, at least not with outsiders.
"I heard all of that," she said. "I know they haven't won an SEC championship since 1963. People told me all of that. They told me Ole Miss was a racist place and they hated black people. It's not a black and white issue for me. My son was there for a whole year and he didn't die. They didn't kill him."
Well that's a good reason to send your son, the #1 prospect in the nation to a college .

Yesterday on PTI (Pardon the Interruption), Tony Kornheiser actually said that the Ole Miss class is just "fishy," saying that he thinks some money might have switched hands. He went on about how Ole Miss isn't a top program and it's just inconceivable that it could pull this many top players in -- many of whom aren't even from Mississippi.
I've never heard a commentator be so f*cking blatent about a team cheating before anyone has ever "officially" accuse them.
Wilbon tried to be more diplomatic about it, but he was also baffled.

wrong
He convinced Tunsil to come on board and was there on Conner's OV. He isn't the only reason they signed, but he is part of the reason.
Every year there is a surprise team around #5-8 that catches lightning in a bottle. This year it was Ole Miss. They were in the basement for so long, they are due to have a little hope. Let them have it until the season starts and they come back to reality.

Got to give Freeze credit. He is actively promoting Ole Miss football. Even BBC (as in British Broadcasting) spent 30 minutes on Ole Miss football on SuperSunday. Freeze, Michael Ohr and Ole Miss students were interviewed and all represented the school well.
