With our defensive line not being as good as last year, and lots of LBs with lots of potential, do y'all think Chavis will run the 3-4 next year? Beckwith and Melvin jones look like they could get a good bit of playing time in this system. Not to mention Kwon And Debo are animals. Barrow is pretty solid as well.
If so, which lineman/ linebackers do y'all think will play where?

Just because you have depth at LB it doesn't mean that you should run a 3-4

You need a solid NT to run the 3-4 as your base defense

And the type of LBers you're looking for aren't necessarily the same type of guys

Kwon just isn't an OLB in a 3-4 any way you slice it

This has already been discussed several times before. We don't run a 3-4.... Chavez isn't a 3-4 coach. The three man front you saw was a 3-2-6 and a 3-3-5 in some cases. What is everyone's obsession with the freaking 3-4 anyway? Our defense has been just fine in a base 4-3.

Our d-line will be fine. Go look at a depth chart and you won't think it's going to decline.

It's not linebackers you need in a 3-4 it's d-line. We don't have those types of players.

You need a really good defensive line and it's too much to ask to change a defensive scheme if there is no need to.

To have an effective 3-4, you need a mammoth nt. those are few and far between at the NFL level. Let alone college.

It is not a good idea to change to a 3-4 BECAUSE your D-line is taking a step back from last year, or so you think.

About the same as us playing with a "drop linebacker."
