I mean other than the fact that Brees has a better offensive line, better offensive scheme, better playercaller, better backs, better tight ends, better receivers, and plays no less than 8 games a season in a dome, the guy might just have a point.

I can't put Ben or Eli ahead of Flacco. Eli has two legit number ones and didn't even put up 4,000 yards this year and has never thrown less than a 10 picks in a season.
Flacco has never had a 4,000-yard season; Eli's had 3 (including 4,933 last year). Flacco has never had fewer than 10 INTs in a season either. Eli and Ben both have 2 rings since '05.

Ben takes way too long to make a decision with the ball and when he does he makes dumbass throws.
Only the first half of that statement is true. And it's only true sometimes.

offensive line - saints
offensive scheme - saints (pass) baltimore (run)
playcaller - saints
better backs - so you're telling me PT, sproles, and ingram > rice and bernard pierce? going with little ray on this one
better TE - graham > pitta, but pitta isn't some lowly TE. he's coming along just fine
better receivers - anquan boldin and torrey smith > marques colston and lance moore. I'm a saints homer til the day I die, but you honestly think saints have the better receiving corps? Sure they've been with brees since '06, but speed and athleticism ravens are better.

The Saints have better backs than Ray Rice?

Saints averaged the same amount of ypc as the Ravens.

Rice is the best back in that group, but Pierce is a rookie and didn't really start getting many touches til the end of the year. They have no one else of of any note at the RB position. The Saints are deeper and more diversified at the position. I'd put it as as a push.

Graham is a top 5 tight end and David Thomas a solid number two tight end. Yeah Pitta started to come along this year, but he's not in the top 10 of tight ends in the league and hell may not even be in the top 15.

lol wut? Boldin and Smith as solid and all, but neither are true number one at this point. The Saints' receiving corps wasn't as deep as it was the year before with the loss of Meachem, but let's be real, you have to factor in Pierre Thomas and Sproles because they are great pass catchers out of the backfield.
If you looking at the starting 11's outside of the QBs, the Ravens have the better starting back and the better number 2 receiver (Smith over Moore, but only because of Smith's elite speed), but 7-8 of the other players are clearly better for the Saints.
Don't forget that even because Payton wasn't on the sidelines, it's not like he his gameplan wasn't used and he had no impact on their playcalling at all. If you seriously believe he had NOTHING to do with their gameplans or gameday operations, you are delusional. With all of the tech available today, he could call the game and run the practices from a poolside bar in Brazil if he wanted to.

Brees threw like 28 INT this year and his team was riding couch while flacco was throwing bombs...
Wow because he wasn't playing constantly from behind on the team with the worst defense in NFL history and without a head coach or anything like that. Some people on this site really open your eyes to how dumb people are out there.
Flacco should currently be ahead of Big Ben also.

completion percentage is stat padding?
RG3 had the highest completion % this season. RG3 > Brees by your metric.
Brees set the record for highest completion percentage in a season dipshit

Well that was within the last two seasons, so I'll say that
Care to try again?
ETA: Pathetic

This about where a player is now, not where he was in 2011. Flacco can just physically make plays that Manning, Brees, and Brady can't. Manning/Brees/Brady aren't making that 65-70 yard throw downfield to Jacoby Jones. They don't have the arm strength. Hell Rodgers might not even have it. Flacco should have been sacked about 6-7 times last night, but was only sacked two, maybe three times and that was because of his mobility. Brees/Brady/Manning would have been on the turf.

You mean about where a player was a whole entire season ago?? Even if you are right about Flacco's surprising mobility, you already showed you don't know shite about Brees. The fact that you didn't even know he set an NFl record last year tells me all I need to know about you

We are talking about how good the players are NOW, not over a year ago. Get with the times man.

Even if I'm right? The hell? Do you even watch the games? Oh wait, you are probably one of those guys who only knows shite about his team and to hell with the rest.

Where did I say I didn't know this? Someone brought up completion percentage. Brees didn't have the best completion percentage this year. Nine quarterbacks, including two rookies, had higher Completion percentages than he did this year.
Besides, dude throws a shitload of screens and dump offs. Those can and do inflate a player's completion percentage.

If Torrey Smith isnt a number 1 WR than Idk what is.
This must be a Gamecock alter to be this dumb

People are actually arguing Brees Vs Flacco. HOLY frickING shite.

Roddy White, Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Colston, Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Johnson, and Dwayne Bowe to name a few. There are teams with two number 1 quality receivers (Falcons and Giants) and there are a couple of teams with two number two's (Ravens and Seattle). Then of course there are the teams who don't have a true 1 or 2 option- Miami, Cleveland (Josh Gordon is fast emerging though), Raiders, and Rams.
Smith isn't a true number one right now, but he'll probably emerge as one next year. Will be interesting to see if he can sustain it with Boldin getting into his 30's.
