All towns......even Shreveport.....should have local brewers.
Alton Brown did a show on how to brew beer at home. Too damn labor intensive.

You do it as a hobby, not to save money.

This is really cool; hope the folks in NWLA support these guys.

Although our area, and the state for the most part, are way behind in the craft beer scene I think once New Belgium goes live April 1st it will open up a major wave in other breweries coming to the state.
The want for craft beer is here and I think great raft will do very well. Just MHO

I see one problem with craft beer in Shreveport/Bossier is the lack of appropriate bars in which to drink it.

It seems most new beers are introduced on tap 1st and then expand.

an exception to this would be Tin Roof who went right into can production and seemed to suffer a little from it. of course all breweries are different. it all starts with a quality product.

I have hopes for the Great Raft guys
I follow them on twitter and FB, and they seem to know good beer at least, so hopefully they put as much care and thought into their beer as they beer they post about so much

this point confuses me. why would new belgium coming to louisiana promote growth in the craft beer industry?
we already get dozens of breweries that are better than nb.

tin roof started on draft first. at least im pretty sure they did.

having one of the largest craft breweries distribute to LA certainly can't hurt the LA craft beer industry

Pretty sure they did too but it wasn't very long before they had one on the shelf.

Yeah you're probably right; I should have stated that they moved too soon from draft right into full-scale production instead of giving their brewery time to develop a following and also give them time to iron out their production and quality control.
