The do not mention the sex of the person in the releas because they do not want to give any indication that the sex of the person is part of their decision making process (although it certainly is). They want to stress that this was an affair between 2 adults, and they will later claim MA was not in a position to coerce her.

This is part of the defense for the suit being brought by the dyke.

Exactly... clearly, part of the angle for the fired track coach is that this happens everywhere, but in heterosexual relationships, the people are not fired. Had they disclosed the sex in the PR release, however innocuous it may seem, it implies a double standard that may or may not exist. At least when you add in the part that he wasn't fired.

Its more complicated that it seems on the surface. The Applewhite sex deal by itself is not that big of a story. Other factors within the athletic department make this event part of a larger, more serious series of events.

The BOR is having an emergency meeting because of he timing of the release of the story. Bev Kearny's attorney is using the Open Records Act to skower the records of the athletic department. So, the deal with Major is now out in the open.

Next question - did the AD properly report the event & discipline to the President & ultimately to BOR? If not, was University procedure violated? Should Major have been terminated at the time of the event? Regardless of the answer, is it smart to terminate Major 4 years after the event, given that Major will then have a wrongful termination case against UT. EDIT - I'm now told that the BOR was not informed of the Applewhite event & they are pissed - Deloss Dodds career at UT is most likely over, although this won't be decided at meeting tomorrow.

If Major is not fired, does Bev Kearney use this in court to support her case of wrong termination?

Does Bev Kearney's attorney turn up other "bombshells" in their quest to embolden their case? I'm hearing that there is more "stuff" to be revealed.

National Signing Day is 4 days away. Do you now see why there is an emergency meeting scheduled for tomorrow? shite is about to get real at UT - At best, Deloss Dodds is weakened significantly. At worst, both Dodds & Mack Brown will end their careers at UT sooner rather than later.

The BOR & the power boosters are put in a catch 22 situation. Only 1 way to cure it - money and lots of it and they have it. But its not going to fare well for DD & MB. There's only so much "goodwill" and most of that has been used up (with boosters).
