We're obv going to win that many - I just hope we keep it under 30 or so and retain a top 6 pick.

For someone given the name 'Jester' he is not very funny

The Hornets have a better than .600 record when Gordon plays so I don't expect a bottom 5 finish and if you aren't going to finish bottom 5 then taking is stupid. Winning means you're an up and comer and makes it easier for Demps to sell Free Agents.
Would you rather have the #7 pick and not be attractive to free agents or the #11 pick and Demps gets his choice of any Free Agent besides the SuperStars?

Anyone we pick is going to be a project like Austin Rivers. Maybe they're the long term answer but it will be a while before they are able to prove they aren't a bust.

I dont think there's too many people who believe that Mohammed and Porter are not going to be legitimate NBA small forwards. one of them is likely going to be there at pick number six. I agree that anything after that is a crapshoot but these two guys will be solid
Both are far more NBA ready than Rivers - so that comparison is a joke.

Last season with Gordon 6-3 .67%
This season with Gordon 7-4 .63%
Current record 15-31
If we play just .600 ball with Gordon but he misses back to backs and we lose about 75% of those games, the final record will be 35-47 which would be a .426 winning percentage that would currently put us at 13th in the draft order.
You can't just root for losses, you basically have to root for Gordon to get injured again to achieve your goals. There is no way to get the type of pick you're talking about without something semi-disastrous happening, so I'm going to pass on rooting for losses.

If we lose a ton when fully healthy anf suppose to be getting better, I would be scared for our future

That's very good analysis the argument that I counter with is that we have won a disproportionate amount of very close games... probably close to 75% of them, since Gordon's return. if we revert back to 40% winning of these close games the record wouldn't be nearly so shiny and finishing with a top 5 pick isn't as improbable as your numbers suggest.

The eyeball test is more important than actual wins and losses. when Gordon is healthy and we're clicking we look like a top 7 team in the west. when you consider how young we are and the pieces that we can add in the next season or two we should be a Western Conference finals team within two or three years
Posted on 2/1/13 at 12:52 pm to WiskyMike
Yeah, let's turn into a perennial lottery loser like the Kings!

So wouldn't being a top 7 team be the reason we win those close games? Good teams find a way or have enough good players to win. If that's the case then we shouldn't revert back to winning 40% unless something bad happened. I get why you want a higher pick, but there is no positive way to get what you want.
