Video: Les Miles talks New Orleans and Harbaughs

Question for the day: did Les Miles arrive at LSU as the occasionally unhinged, grass-eating, emotions-on-his-sleeve Mad Hatter perfectly suited for the unique rhythms (and challenges) of coaching football in the state of Louisiana, or did those rhythms (and challenges) change what had been a perfectly sane coach into one with a "distinct flavor" of bayou passion?
It's worth asking because it's worth remembering that Miles' early life and early football career were nearly as far from Baton Rouge, culturally speaking, as it's capable to get; he was born in Ohio and attended Michigan to play for Bo Schembecler. While Miles was there, he was also coached by Wolverines assistant Jack Harbaugh, and later got to know the two Harbaugh sons who would wind up coaching against one another in this Sunday's Super Bowl.
In this interview with Tracy Wolfson, Miles talks about his relationship with the Harbaugh family -- but also, appropriately, takes time to praise the New Orleans setting for the Super Bowl, the two "phases" of Miles' career, if you will, combined into one interview.

Hate to admitt it, because I don't want to be anything but even tempered...
But those people that consatntly say they want a spread offense.. really, really get under my skin.... actually they get into ends of my nerve endings
Two Harbaughs, in the fricking SUPER BOWL!!!!
Guess what, hard nose football, power running game, with attempts to go deep... This is the same principle Miles runs....
It is not the system!!! they system is quite good!! Power running is GOOOOOOOOOOD!
Get off the coolade abou these open offenses...
Every timed sport has the same principles... defense, ball control, and clock management....
Miles has a shaky history with clock management... but the system works!

to get his back on subject:
i love that les gets so much press exposure
its always good for recruits and their parents to see our coach on major networks speaking on subjects other than just LSU football because it shows how well rounded the man is
