Gee, I wonder if that's because we had Patrick Peterson and Mo Claiborne?

His ability at CB has been som diminished it is now under rated. Now, he was nota shut down CB like PP or MC, but he was good, better than he is typically given credit for.

Corner was his least effective position, not that his play there was poor. His hands were the best on the team. His size limited his value at the position, as well as his teammates limited his playing time there.

Definitely underrated as a corner, IMO. But, nowhere near what is being discussed by some in this thread.

The poster I replied to referenced his play at corner specifically, and this was his least valuable position. And I would put that before a board of qualified posters on the subject, and live with the results.

I think you are splitting hairs. Tyrann Mathieu was not close to the best pure CB at LSU during his 2 years, suffice to say we will never see a player like him ever again.

Actually, he didn't. He referred to TM7 as "a CB", which was his position (as listed on the roster). Where he lined up on given plays does not change the fact that he was indeed a CB at LSU, and was a playmaker at LSU the likes of which may never be seen again. Brandon Larson was far, FAR more notable for being a HR hitter than his defensive play at shortstop. That does not change the fact that he is among the most outstanding players we've ever had that played shortstop.
