Usually wait till spring or at least close to it, but it's suddenly unusually warm. My grass is dying and weeds are growing.

OB lawn gurus, what say you?

It won't hurt to hit it light now, with this warm weather, but I'd def hit it again around spring.

I sprayed some GrazonNext to knock down the broad leaf plants growing so the bermuda would not have to compete in a few weeks.

Being the temps are still sub 70 I'l probably have to re-treat.

If you live in the Baton Rouge area, summer annual pre-emerg needs to be out by mid to late march. Later as you go north.

March, unless it's above 70 for a couple of days in late February - I would say at least 3 weekends - the weekend AFTER Mardi Gras if it is warm.

I had good (initial) results both times I used Scots Bonus S, but the drought has really just shredded my grass and I probably have to do extensive work the next couple of years.

Never, the 2 should be done separately, should of done the "weed" part a few weeks ago but not too late, get weed free zone or something similar with 2-4-D and spray accordingly, Bayer now makes a product that has both the 2-4-D and a pre emergent, seems to be doing great for me right now. Wait till after your grass greens up (should be 3-4 weeks from now) then do the "feed" portion, use a variety specific fertilizer

The weed and feed products work well in a healthy lawn...their intent is to stimulate root growth that will coke out weeds.

I'd say its to early...wait til new growth emerges, wait another 2 weeks and then hit it. Ideally soil temp needs to be above 60 or 70
