I know it might not be fair to compare them...Meaning not fair to say Shep would have been as good a college player and not fair to say Denard cant transition to another position.

But MAYBE..

These guys were always meant to be great college QBs...that transition to a position they cant play at a high level (think Eric Crouch)

Robinson has struggled at WR during Senior Bowl practice (he is new to it..)

I still think Shep could have been Denard Robinson esque in that kind of system. Yes Shep, may have sucked throwing the ball....but Denard isnt a helluva lot better either.

Maybe they were meant to go the "Pat White" route. Nothing wrong with that.

If Pat White went to LSU...he'd probably have been a DB..and maybe not a very good one. But at least he has a great college career to hold to his name by playing QB in WV's system.

Not saying that Shep would have been as good as Denard in college....and not saying there's no way Robinson wont make plays at WR...

Just their "peak" was at QB in college imo. Nothing wrong with that.

Again.....just my opinion.

If LM had given Shep a shot at QB and was committed to him, LSU would have won the last 4 BCSNCG.

That's a strong statement. However, I had hoped we could have given him a shot.

Denard Robinson has 0% chance making the NFL as a QB and practically 0% chance of making the NFL at any position. Shep similarly would've had 0% chance of making the NFL, but because he's been trained at WR he'll have a much greater chance at the NFL (however small it may be). IMO Shep's route was the correct route.

Also, did you see how bad Robinson got his arse kicked by Alabama?

Did you see how JJ got his arse kicked by Bama?

He wasnt a Pro QB either. Still got his shot in college.

Well playing Shep at qb instead of JJ doesn't do us any good if they both get their arse kicked by Bama

If LM has our RS in as QB and stuck with it.... There would be no stadium expansion, JL would not hold the record for most puck 6's in a season and our QB would not have been suspended for fighting at Shady's...instead our QB would have been suspended for a rent scandal.....

I like RS but he was never going to play QB at a major Div. 1 program. Just a fact.

How does RS playing QB erase what JL did the year before he got to LSU?

Amazing such a gifted QB couldn't beat out JJ and Lee, and it pains me to say that.

He prolly would've been goat in a lesser conference. I'm glad he stayed for a degree and wish him best of luck.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but much like Shep, (from what I hear) Denard can't throw a very pretty ball. I didn't watch much of Denards career, but he couldn't throw a decent pass for shite against Bama.

shep may have been a good qb at mcneese or northwestern...but not in the sec. he is a great guy and i wish him the best-but not a big time qb.

RS can't carry DR jock on the football field.

I love RS, but damn you guys need to get over it.

RS skill set didn't tranfer to college at the SEC level.

The only thing holding back RS is RS.

his passing wasn't the prettiest, but it was effective for the most part when I saw him play. most of what I saw was him playing for Rich Rod though, and he definitely has a better track record with that kinda QB than Borges does.
