Panic Fans: I'm going to be chasing my first Panic song at Jazzfest.

I've always been a casual WSP fan ever since high school back in the 90's... and I can also say the same about Phish. I've been to about 10-15 Phish shows in my life and if you have ever been to even just one Phish show, you know what I mean when I say that it's an experience like no other.
Well before I ever saw Phish live I saw Panic at UNO Lakefront arena in 2008. Even as a casual fan I still knew most of the setlist they were playing that night, except for when they played Hatfield. I was fricking blown away! Talk about a great song and an even better story behind it. I couldn't believe I hadn't heard it after 10 yrs of listening to them.
So in closing. This will be my second time seeing Panic, both times will be in Nola... and I'm praying I get a Hatfield

Also I was at that Halloween WsP show in 2008. Born on the Bayou opener was sick!

Everyday - What a great bunch of songs. Pilgrims (one of my all time Mikey favorites), Papa, hatfield, diner, pieces, parsons.

I remember my first Panic show, 2001 thanksgiving weekend at the MidSouth in Memphis. First and only House of the Rising Sun.
And you talk about coming across an amazing song after listening to bands for years and years. I was the same way when after listening to the Grateful Dead for 10 years, I listened to Crimson, White and Indigo and heard Blow Away. I was blown away. THAT'S PUNTASTIC!!!

I have seen 100s of different bands at 100s of different venues and UNOLFA is still one of my favorites. I don't what it is but the venue will rock your face off everytime.

Relatively small arena with great acoustics

Yeah I understand.
I guess I meant that when in comparison to similar type venues it's tops for me. It may be a bias opinion bc UNO is where I basically fell in love with live music... so many great bands have rocked that place.
I decided that the North Charleston Coliseum in SC is prob one of the best indoor venues there is after I saw Phish there in 2010.
The only thing that could top that is to see Phish play UNO. They've only played it once back in 1999. It sucks that they don't come to New Orleans anymore. How easily they have forgotten that it was places like Tips that help get them to where they are today.

New Orleans+Trey=Relapse
But for real they need to get down here

I'm sure his friends and family still cringe at the thought of a few Nola memories.
It wouldn't surprise me if the 96' jazz fest reaction still probably has a few band members butthurt about coming here.

what happened at 96 jazz fest?

The Phish fans flooded the fairground with insane numbers.
Phish put on an epic show.
All the while the city was not prepared for the type of invasion(for lack of a better word)there fans were gonna bring with them.
Keep in mind 95-96 was the peak of there career and there following was unreal. Nola was just simply caught off guard with everything that comes along with the "lot" environment that Phish had.
They were not asked to come back.
