Bump for Glock Greatness!!!
And: I find it amusing how people claim that there are better polymers out there....If everyone else has a better pistol, then maybe they can stay out of court for patent violations...S&W.
If someone wants to go out and make a better polymer, I am all for it. But don't change the name and the roll markings and say it's better.
Walther PPQ and P99, and H&K did a better job making a polymer pistol than S&W did of copying a Glock. I could take the S&W slide and attach it to a Glock Lower....Puh-Leeze.
1911s are great, but they are not the workhorse that a Glock is (in the field).

I have a Glock 23 that has jammed up and stove piped on me several times in the last couple years.
Posted on 1/24/13 at 8:58 pm to PapaPogey
I also have a glock 23 I would love nothing more than to sell.
Posted on 1/24/13 at 8:59 pm to PapaPogey
my 19 and 23 used to get jammed up after i had 500+ through them constantly, this is one of the main reasons i'm not a huge Glock fan

It's a Gen 1 that my grandpa used to carry when he worked for the Sheriff dept. Its a good gun, but failure to feed/eject and stove piping really makes me second guess the reliability.
Eta: and as much as I've shot it, I'm way more accurate with other guns. I can't shoot it for shite

My glock has ran flawlessly, I just hate the way it feels. I mean if a thug runs through my door I'm confident it'll go boom 13 times. I'd just rather sell it and use the cash to help get a 1911.

Wow. My Glocks are the devil. They will feed anything, anywhere, anyway.
Sorry about your Glock issues. Now, quit limp wristing it and hold that gun like a man.

Oh geez the patented glock limp wrist issue.
It just feels like a piece of lumber in my hands rather than a weapon.

Whats a Sig 229 in pretty good condition worth? I looked on GB and only found NIB pistols for sale.

really? that's surprising.. 1st generation glocks are some of the most reliable guns out there.. i've heard of very few complaints
4th generation they fricked all to hell, let this guy help explain why.. linky thingy

Like I said, it's older and maybe that has something to do with it. I recently sent it to the shop for an adjustment after it was very slightly pinching the casings on the eject. The guy said it wasn't very problematic, but I got it fixed anyway.

I said several times, but in reality I've probably had about 3 mishaps in the last 30 mag unloads. Maybe it was due to the problem I just explained, but IDK. No telling how many rounds have been through this sucker.

I like mine. I can shoot it pretty good. There are more accurate pistols out there for sure, and I shoot those better than Glocks. If it ever jams on me, I will take it as an omen that I need to make a change.
I have already switched to an XDs for concealed carry.
