Over the last few days I get the sneaking suspicion that slags might get fired.

I'm not against Spags getting fired, but then who do you hire that's better?

Kind of late in the process.

I think this is more of Paeyton stating the obvious than it is him running Spags out of town. First, Spags was his guy he targeted to bring in. Second, it was well known that this is a defense scheme which takes time for the players to learn and succeed in. Third, Spags was coaching without the guidance and leadership of Paeyton, so we don't know how things would've been if P was here last season.

There are way too many variables in play here to fire Spags after one season. If we do fire him though, I would be all on board bringing in Lunchbox Ryan or the DC from Arizona that was let go. Not sure if either of these two were hired yet, but they both have a great track record of solid defenses. I personally want the Ari guy, but he'll be a HC very soon

I think he'd at least like to have one year of working with the guy. Having clear leadership can do wonders for a team.
