frickING YES. Would be there every Sunday morning when I lived there. Lead off with a picadillo, get the migas and get an order of biscuits and tortillas.
Also, the aforementioned Fonda San Miguel and G'raj Mahal are good as well. Love the pork mole enchiladas at FSM.

Mueller or Franklins are by far the two best BBQ places in Austin.

I'm moving there in May and have spent a few weekends there. here are my suggestions
Bacon Restaurant - Great breakfast
219 West - Tapas style
Salt Lick- famous bbq in Texas Hill Country- about 25-30 minutes from Austin
Perry's - Steaks
Perla's - Outdoor seating on South Congress
Hills Cafe - Great Burger (south congress/hippie ville)

Hill's Cafe is more on the borderline of some of the barrio... I used to live on the good side of SoCo from it. 
Their CFS and burgers are good though.
Jack Allen's Kitchen out off of 71 is good as well

In all seriousness, Franklin's BBQ was excellent. We also hit up a nicer restaurant last trip called Parkside I believe. Great stuff.

Torchy's Tacos.
Get the brush fire and the crossroad for lunch/dinner. If you want a breakfast taco, get the ranch hand.
Another favorite is North By Northwest. Their Cedar Plank Salmon is all I order there.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar.
Probably the 2nd best burger joint I've been to in my life. Their burgers, fries, and sodas are organic. Heck, even the ketchup is organic. Also try the chipotle ketchup. It's addicting. You can even drink a beer while you're in line waiting to order.
Get there early because the lines are atrocious. For lunch, I would get there by 11 and for dinner 5:30.
BTW, they don't do to go orders.

That part of town is nothing compared to the ghettos of Nola and BR. Juan in a Million is open from 7am to 3pm, so there shouldn't be any problems with crime.
To the OP: Go there and get the Don Juan and 3 extra tortillas. Your total price will be around $5.50. You can thank me later.

FYI to all who are saying JMuellers, or Muellers erroneously ... it shut down.
It's now run by his sister, they had some sort of falling out. But what would BBQ establishments in Texas be, if there weren't family issues?

Banger's on Rainey st.
Michi Ramen: They just went from trailer to brick and mortar.
Habaneros on Oltorf. I get Huevos Gringos every Thursday morning. This place is cheap and good.
Juan in a Million: Juan Meza truly has the best handshake I've ever had. He usually stands near the register, give him a hello handshake, or one on the way out. Oh and get a Don Juan...just one.
Jack Allens: Brunch is pretty darn good, as is lunch/dinner. Locally sourced. I worked with Jack Gilmore at Z'Tejas when I was young, he was burntout as a chef then, and he has totally renewed himself via locavore food.
Franklin: It's damn good, not as good as other joints, but the best in a metro area. I don't like waiting, so I go in at about 1:30 to 2ish when they are about to run out. Otherwise, if you want to go, get there at 9:45, and bring some refreshments.
Hillside Farmacy: Good locavore food, and good wine/beer.
Only for the Migas: Go to Trudy's, they still have the best Migas in the city.
Elizabeth St Cafe: There is better Vietnamese in town, but this stuff is good, and has a great patio, and french pastries, etc.

Bar Congress: Really good drinks, and small plate food, too.
Trifecta: All the bourbons in the world.
Midnight Cowboy: Go their website and make a reservation. Get the Joe Buck cocktail, it's like a Moscow Mule.
Draught House: It's just a nice little beer joint. Half biergarten-ish, and inside is more like an english pub.
Weather Up: Good drinks, nice atmosphere

Gueros, Stubbs, Magnolia Cafe, Kerbey Lane,
Oye vay, all of those are horrible. Clay McPhail just sold off El Arroyo to the Cain and Ables guys...the Winstanley borthers, and they suck at food too.
Hut's sucks these days, Hopdoddy is a better burger.
Gueros is a tourist trap.
A dozen picadillo's and a large salsa, and a plastic spoon = the most popular man in your office.

yep. I'm back in Austin fairly often, but not often enough. And I typically don't have a chance to go to Cisco's.

Yeah, Sausage and Beer. Over 100 beers on tap. Sit at the bar and spend a long lunch there, then go back to work greatly buzzed.
For the most part, you choose a sausage....then a bun...then 2 toppings, a sauce, and they make it. There are others that are more like sausage plates. Like bangers and mash, etc.
Just don't get the boudin. It was a sold B-. But the red beans and rice that comes with it were pretty darn good.
