1) I think Lakers will give LeBron, Kobe's money to play in LA.
Their cap situation would make it tricky. Pretty sure they would have to match salaries in a trade to do it. Miami would have to want the players that come with any matching salary, and I don't see a whole lot of enticing future pieces in Laker Land.
As of today The Lakers only has Nash under contact for 2014.

Wow, I didn't realize they had freed up that much. I was also assuming they resigned Howard, which is sketchy. That said, Miami could be flush, as well, at that point, so I see no way the Lakers could outbid Miami, and I think Lebron learned a PR lesson leaving Cleveland.

I wouldn't think leaving Miami for LA would be a bad PR move. He wouldn't be leaving his home team and like he did with Cleveland. Also he would be going from a Big market to a Great Market. If he goes to LA I think he could be the first Play to make 1 Billion dollars in endorsements

He won't bail on Miami for LA, he is going to be in LA for the long haul I think. He wants to go down as the GOAT and he knows changing teams when your contract runs out isn't a good idea. It is like starting over every time.
Think about it. First year in Cleveland was his rookie season, so it doesn't really count but they didn't get to the playoffs until his third season. And when he went to Miami, they made it to the Finals in year one but they didn't win and he had D-Wade and Bosh.
Lebron will stay in Miami and hope the owners build around him like Kobe in LA.

No, rumors are CLEVELAND wants him back. LeBron wouldn't go through all that shite again. Can you read that headline?

Did you read the article or just the headline?

Then again, as Yahoo! Sports NBA columnist Adrian Wojnarowski wrote before a Heat/Cavs game in Cleveland last February, "free agency is forever on [James'] mind" and, for some time now, preparing the path for a potential return to Ohio has been, too: Before mentioning Thursday his openness to playing in Cleveland again, James months ago had an emissary or two carry that message to the Cavaliers’ front office, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. His camp wanted the message delivered to owner Dan Gilbert, sources said, but so far, the response has been silence. [...] James can’t opt out of his contract until after the 2013-2014 season, but he understands that the Cavaliers would have to make a decision to hold back on their rebuild, preserve cap space, and wait on him all over again. He has to convince Gilbert to make the leap of faith, and that includes first working over the fans. Of his return, James said: “I think it would be great. It would be fun to play in front of these fans again. I had a lot fun times in my seven years here. … I’m here as a Miami Heat player, and I’m happy where I am now, but I don’t rule that out in no sense. “And if I decide to come back, hopefully the fans will accept me.”

My bad bro. Read very little of the article, just a few sentences. Still, I don't think he would leave Miami in the peak of his career and make everyone hate him again.

The Lakers only have one player (Nash) signed in the summer of 2014. If he retires, they have no one signed and have the full salary cap to go after major FAs. They are going to get a couple of guys, no doubt..

This is what is so wrong with Lebron and all the players like him. He is so busy trying to cut backroom deals and colluding with other players he doesn't even know when something is against the rules. Gilbert can't talk to Lebron or Lebron's people, especially about free agency, it's tampering. He would be opening himself up to fines, lost picks and who knows what else.. It's all a front. I just wish someone would call Lebron out on it..

Looking at that list... where do anti-GV people think we're going to get a starter?
I'm leaning more and more towards drafting Smart of Burke this year and having them learn under GV for at least one year. Maybe GV leads into year three of the Davis era, maybe they take over.
Either way I think a small signing of a shooting SF is our only move this offseason. And that's ok.
