SOS, your pre-conference record prediction tells me that you are of the same thinking as me in that you expected better so far and that this team is underachieving.

If you do agree with , what do you think the reason is for the underachievement?

I totally agree that they are underachieving. Obviously at this point I thought 2-2 would be most likely with a chance at 3-1.

For one, I think we are really struggling to have a complete game. LSU needs ALL 3 of these things to win:

1. Rebound
2. Take care of ball (~10-15 turnovers)
3. Shoot the ball decent

In each of our games we have had 1 or 2 of these things not happen, and until we can have complete games, we will not win.

The first two games we took care of the ball. 7 and 12 turnovers were not bad totals.

Auburn
1. 40 to 38 advantage - Good
2. 12 turnovers - Good
3. Shot 37% - BAD

Florida
1. 53 to 34 disadvantage - BAD
2. 7 turnovers - Good
3. Shot 32% - Bad

South Carolina
1. 40-36 advantage - Good
2. 22 turnovers - BAD
3. Shot 41% - meh...

Georgia
1. 38-29 advantage - Good
2. 21 turnovers - BAD
3. Shot 36% - BAD

Until we can put these together, we will not be winning very much. This team needs to hit their 3 point baskets at a much better percentage than they have so far, because we know we don't have very solid post offense.

It hasn't been lack of hustle, because they do that very well. To me it has just been LSU not being able to put the dagger in the hearts of their opponents.

This. We're unable to build any leads, so we can never afford a dry spell in shooting. So when one comes, we're unable to recover completely.

Other than the O.T. vs South Carolina, and JOB 3 on occassion (one very glaring example against Georgia) I'd agree but I'm not one to give much credit for that. IMHO that should be a given and it's not there's 7 kids on the bench dying to play.

Jones is still learning his players, and making the right subs at the right times just ain't easy, but I think he needs to find better formulas and combinations.

And he's got to find somethign they do well as a unit offensively, becuase I've seen lesser talent run better half-court offensive sets than we are running.

I'm going to force myself to go Wednesday, but I don't want to see another bed-shittings underperformance.

Just heard Charles Barkley say "the difference between winning and losing isn't very much".

I think that's where we are, we just can't bridge that little difference between and losing. We're not quite doing it all in one game. As you guys have pointed out.
