You sure? The fact that the OP didnt even list govt buildings means its on the instructor. Whaat kind of instructor wouldnt tell you where you couldnt legally carry?

I think you can carry in some establishments that serve alcohol for consumption on premises, but the catch is how much income is derived from alcohol sales I think. Places that are usually in doubt will have a sign posted. Also, if you are in a bar, you are probably drinking , and I'm pretty sure that's against the law while packing.

Anywhere alcohol is served . And basically any govt building.

If they have the 51 sign in a conspicuous place at the entrance of the bar/rest. it is illegal.

Not true.
You can legally carry at say an Outback or Chilis. You must be seated in the restaurant part and not at the bar. Because 51% or more of their revenue comes from food they have a different classification than a bar does (its like a class A instead of a class B). Keep in mind, your BAC while carrying cannot exceed .05%.
You cannot carry at Happys or B&Ts though.

This.
All of which should have been covered at a legitimate CC class.

My instructor drove down from Ruston to teach a class in Denham Springs. He made zero dollars off the class (we all tipped him nicely) and he did it for the love of guns. Most of us knew the basics behind CCing but he taught us much much more. I still call him to this day with questions and is always more than willing to let me know or find out for me.
One of those things that I am 150% glad that I did not skimp on.

No bars. Restaurants, yes. In the eating area. But even if its say a Chilis, you cannot go to the bar area while CCing.
No not true.
If the place gets more than I think 50% of their revenue from alcohol then you're not supposed to carry in there.
You can walk in a restaurant and sit at a bar and order food and be 100% legal because it (the business) is classified as a restaurant.

If a restaurant gets more than 50% of their sales from the bar then it is not a restaurant. It is classified as a bar, regardless of what it looks like. I am correct in my previous statement.
And I am 99% sure that you cannot sit at the bar of a restaurant either. I will call my instructor tomorrow and confirm this though.

Yea I think it has to do more with the "title" of the establishment in LA. My CC instructor just said to follow the dummy rule "if it says bar, don't carry. If it doesn't straight-up say that it's only a bar, then you'll be ok."
