8-9 and 0-4 in conf. Is this finally the year that UT dumps this underachiever? He is the definition of being just good enough. Time to go Rick.

been time, years ago. texas is booming with bball talent, and he's getting some of them and underachieving with those players. Too good of talent to struggle at Texas in football or basketball.

If your a big12 fan, u want them to keep barnes.

The athletic department is claiming he has a "young team" (same excuse that they use for the football team).

I don't know how you can have Kevin Durant and DJ Augustin on your team and only advance as far as the Sweet Sixteen.

Texas always has some of the top recruits, yet never does anything with them

Durant, Aldridge, DJ, Tristan Thompson, etc.

I will say that Texas is one of those places where one-and-done's go....except they only usually have one a year, not like Kentucky where they restock every single year.

So Barnes is always stuck with freshmen and sophomores

he is overrated and underrated at the same time. 14 straight ncaa tourney appearances. that's fricking GOOD. never does anything with them, though (only one final 4?). possible victim of his own success. he could have perenially been much less successful at texas and no one would care now. since he was pretty good for so long, people are finally pissed.

it's also tough to play in a conference that you can't win.
