My mom got pulled over some years back for speeding by a state boy, she told him she had a .38 in the car. He flips his shite, secures the weapon, empties all the cartridges in the floor board and acts like a total arse the whole time. Little prick wrote my sweet mother a ticket for 4mph over.

Thanks D...I did call the LSP about the law because I travel from TX to LA often.

Probably, "wait right there, we have an officer en route to your location to confiscate that deadly weapon."

That LA is also a castle state and having a loaded gun is not a problem. I could not remember if it was LA or TX that required the gun to be concealed. I keep mine concealed at all times so it is not an issue in either state.

I got in a wreck last week. I told the officer I had a pistol in console all he said was "are you a felon" I said no and that was it.

yes and it MUST be concealed
ETA: I see already addressed...
I think having it quasi-concealed is a good practice. Totally concealed (e.g., glove box, console) may make it harder to get to quickly.

I had something similar, pulled over for speeding a number of years ago, told the officer I had a gun he asked if I was going to shoot him. I said no, and he said that he didn't see a problem...
