Not sure about ethical or not. My first exposure to deer hunting was in MS with dogs. I enjoyed trailing the dogs as opposed to sitting on the stand. Would get cold and fidgety
Now I prefer to still hunt. Do not hunt near or next to areas that run dogs so it does not affect me. I would be agitated if dogs were being used adjacent to me and they kept ending up on my property.

My issue with running dogs.... My step son loves the outdoors but will not hunt with me. His dad brings him and they sit in the back of a truck with a radio on, ice chest, food ,drinks, and wait for a dog to chase a deer across a dirt road or out in a field.
Sitting still for 3 hours watching nature do its thing just isnt fun for him now

As fare as I'm concerned, they can do whatever they want, so long as they keep the dogs completely on their own property...no exceptions, no excuses, 100% of the time.

It's one thing to run dogs, but when they run onto other's property which happens to us quite often. That is not ethical, OK,... however you wanna spin it.

Yes I've been looking for a reason to start posting again. Last time we had this discussion I opted out of studying for all my finals

start telling him what an arse his dad is, that will earn you points.
Let him roll, he will probably come around. As you grow you want to try different kinds of hunting, so just let him hang with his dad.
BTW if my ex sent my son out in the woods with one of her MR. Rights, I would be posting from angola. I'm not saying you are a bad guy, and I don't know your situation, but you may want to tread lightly around this issue.

I've been busy building my truck into the ULTIMATE dog hunting rig.
So far I've got the CB radio with big whip, lift kit, front bumper from hell set at just the right height for running over deer, big mud tires, impressive collection of beer cans in the bed, and some really REALLY loud exhaust pipes.
Camo paint job coming tomorrow and q-beam on the door jam with interior control knob.

His dad is 7k behind on child support and last weekend didnt thave gas money to come get his son. He's a piece of shite and knows it but I would NEVER bad mouth him or anything he does in front of his son. I dont pressure the kid to hunt my way or even go with me. I invite him when I go and if he doesnt want to then fine. He'll come around eventually or find another hobby he enjoys.

you need vise grip window handles
swivel cup holders mounted on the roll bar
KC lights that dont work
and you should probably remove the exaust system and leave the pipes for looks
then and only maybe will I hunt with you, but we should go on somebody else's lease because my I am letting the deer rest till march

You also have to have a few stickers for your rear window that shows you have outdoor cred. A Salt Life sticker should be a good start. A fleur de lis sticker with a deer, duck and fish would be pure lagniappe!

I think it's as ethical (or more) than sitting over a pile of corn waiting for a poor deer to come get a bite to eat and then blowing his or her head off.
Or even better, put out some Tinks 69 and trick a buck into thinking he's about to get a piece of arse and then BBAAAMMMM!!! out go the lights.
At least when the dogs are chasing them, they have a chance to get away.
I don't think this dog hunting thing is as easy as some make it out to be.

About as ethical as hiding, shooting it with a high powered rifle and calling it sport.
Kill it with a knife. THAT would be sport.
