re: Best point guards in the NBA

Rondo is so hard to classify. It's hard to know what metric to use because of how peculiar it is to defend him. It has to effect the offense negatively when the opposing point guard can play a foot from the lane. Hard to collapse a defense when your point guard doesn't even have to be guarded outside of 15 feet.
I don't really fear playing the Hornets playing him. For example, last night I would feel relieved when he got open and hope he would take a shot. It's almost a turnover.

Only team he has never gotten a double double against.

I left because I won't win any argument on that board. They don't like me because I call them out when they post bull shite so they stick together when I'm in the discussion. Also multiple posters responded to his original post In the thread with the lol emotion. Mainly because it was that stupid.
They don't like me either. I'm a strong candidate for worst poster for the exact reason you said. There is a lot of BS and groupthink on that board but an unreasonable love for Vasquez is not part of it. I was just calling you out for misreporting what happened in that thread.

The question was who would you take over Vazquez and nothing more. The only ones he definitely said were Paul and Westbrook. He gave excuses as to why he wouldn't take others. He then flipped his original statement to Grevais is a top 12 PG.
Presumably in the context of having to pay them, correct? I don't think the question was set up as if it was a video game and you had turned off salary cap. Not that I agree with him that you should only take those 2.

Have you watched Rondo at all this year? His mid-range jumper FG % is one of tops in the NBA...

Westbrook . Elite "PG" yet he feels entitled to chuck more shots up a game than Kevin Durant.

Deron Williams has fallen off a cliff.
How has no one made more of an argument for Deron Williams?
He has been the argument for one of the top pg in the league for pretty much his whole career. His season average is about 1 point and 1 assist less than his career averages. And he has averaged 19 pts, more than 8 assists, and about 4 rebounds per game in January.
He may not be having his best year, but the only reason his numbers aren't better is bc he had a bad stretch at the end of November.

Yeah, Williams is great. And he has been responsible for leading some pretty good teams.
There will be some bias towards Vazquez considering this is a LA based site. He's still the 22nd most efficient PG in the NBA and his stats have come on a team without many options. Dan Dickau had respectable numbers on a once bad Hornet team.
What GV is doing is respectable for the price. He's not a top 10 pg or anything but it works for what the Hornets need

Lebron James is actually the second best PG in the league behind CP3

1. Chris Paul
2-3: Rondo and Westbrook
4: Rose (put him with Rondo and Westbrook if not for injuries)
5-6: Irving and Parker
Other above average PGs: Williams, Conley, Curry

I see there is no middle ground

Also because it seems he often sacrifices team result in the name of assists. And because he predictable plays super hard when on national TV and often dogs it when he isn't. This skews the perception of his actual production.
