The OP's general point is valid: Alabama under Saban has plucked several highly touted recruits out of Louisiana. And try not to be completely delusional, LSU offered and wanted several of those players (Collins, Duvall, Williams, etc.) It's not a good thing to lose top in-state recruits to a divisional rival. Let's not try to pretend that it is, or that it is somehow immaterial.

It's irrelevant. Those kids wanted to leave the state. LSU replaced them with kids better or as equally as talented.

This whole fence around the state bullshite is for suckers. Especially considering LSU cherry picks recruits from other states.

You argument is about as relevant as his.

Is it good that its a divisional opponent? No. However are we losing anymore than previously no? No.

2003 Lost 5 of top 15 all four stars.
04 2 of top 11
05 lost a ton but we had barely any schollys to offer
06 2 of top 10 both four stars

2013 2 of top 10, 3 of top 15

Nothing is changing only recently instead of going to UT or OU they are going to a place where a coach knows all the schools from a previous coaching stint.

I'm not surprised you would say this. You never grasp that there is more than 1 side. You see only those guys lost, not the guys we replaced them with

Of course LSU wanted those guys, but we replaced them with other highly regarded prospects: Thompson directly replaced Collins. Will he be as good? We'll see. I don't think having a slightly better safety is the difference between winning and losing.

We lost Devall, signed Alexander. Devall, who is not from La, he just finished HS here, wanted to play in a 3-4 apparently.

We have a solid DL class this year so far, we will see how it ends.
