I don't understand why we don't see our "next QB" in the early blow out games playing all of 3rd and/or 4th to get experience!
Wounldnt Mett has gotten significant snaps last year? Wouldn't he have been better this year b/c of it?

Said this a million times. 2011 had plenty of opportunities for Mett to play. 2012 not so many for Rivers. We need to get 2nd and 3rd string QB's some reps when able.

Take a look at our first five games in 2012 and let me know if you think you couldn't find some game time for Rivers / anyone else. How important do you think it was in the grand scheme of things for Mett to play with a concussion?

Not sure when exactly everyone would like to always see the backups in the game. Yeah, we blew a lot of teams out in 2011. However, when you have a 42-7 lead late in the 3rd quarter you can't exactly bring the backup in and start slinging it all over the yard with a 5 touchdown lead. After what, 4 games Mett went to third on the depth chart? How many third string QBs do you see ever take meaningful snaps or snaps period?

For the record, Mett did play in the only true blow out in the first 4 games which was Northwestern, he threw 11 passes in that game. Tough to get a third string QB many more reps than that.
