My Movie Theater Offers a 25 Cent Military/Senior Citizen Discount

I saw this while at the movies yesterday. Is this a joke? If I was military I'd be insulted. Why even bother for such a little discount. Is this the norm at most theaters?

At first I thought you meant a ticket would only cost 25 cents. But yeah a ticket costing $8.75 instead of $9.00 is a pretty shitty deal.

ETA: on this note, does anyone know if cinemark at perkins rowe does student discounts?

Think of it this way:

The theater's cut of that money is probably only a dollar or so.

Doesn't 25 cents seem more substantial now?
